2028 SG Joshua Charlotin (Southeast Polk) -- 26 points (12-17 FG, 2-3 3P), 11 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 block [at Ankeny]

A 6-5 wing who has gotten off to a really good start to his sophomore year, Charlotin will make his debut in the 2028 rankings when they are updated in a few weeks, and it will probably be a fairly lofty debut. As he showed against the Hawks, he can score from anywhere, using his size to his advantage around the rim and shooting over defenders. His 11 rebounds really stand out here, contributing on the glass in a significant way from his perimeter spot.

2026 SF [player_tooltip player_id='2204885' first='Marcele' last='Whitner'] (Mason City) -- 26 points (12-23 FG, 2-5 3P), 9 rebounds (8 offensive), 3 steals, 1 block [vs. Fort Dodge]

A long, athletic 6-4 wing, Whitner was really good against the Dodgers, nearly coming away with a double-double. His work on the glass, especially on the offensive end, was the standout area of his outing. Grabbing eight offensive rebounds provides so much value to a team.

2027 SG [player_tooltip player_id='2419755' first='Tillman' last='Papcun'] (Norwalk) -- 25 points (8-14 FG, 0-2 3P, 9-10 FT), 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals [at Lewis Central]

Papcun, a 6-1 guard who can play with or without the ball in his hands, has been one of the breakout players in the state so far this season. He handles the ball well, can score from all three levels, and contributes across the board. He seems to be gaining confidence with each passing quarter.

2026 SG [player_tooltip player_id='1978119' first='Ethan' last='Headings'] (Iowa City West) -- 25 points (7-16 FG, 1-4 3P, 10-13 FT), 9 rebounds, 4 steals [vs. Wahlert Catholic]

A 6-2 guard, Headings has emerged as the Trojans go-to scorer in his senior year, as he showed against the Golden Eagles. He's a good athlete with length who can play downhill and get to the rim routinely, as evidenced by his 13 free-throw attempts in this one.

2026 PF [player_tooltip player_id='1765553' first='William' last='Gerdes'] (Cedar Falls) -- 24 points (10-13 FG, 4-8 FT), 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, 3 blocks [at Kennedy]

The future Northern Iowa forward was highly efficient against Kennedy, dropping 24 points on 77% shooting. He's always been a talented scorer, particularly around the rim, but what stood out most about this outing was the 6 assists - an area of his game that has continued to improve.

2026 SG [player_tooltip player_id='1756989' first='Isaiah' last='Oliver'] (Waukee Northwest) -- 24 points (8-9 FG, 3-3 3P, 5-5 FT), 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, 1 block [vs. Waukee]

The future Iowa wide receiver played his best game in a Northwest uniform in a big rivalry game among two of the top few teams in the state. A bouncy, physical, athletic wing who is best known for his ability to defend on the ball, his defense was strong again against the Warriors, but he was exceptional offensively, playing downhill and getting to the rim, knocking down shots off the catch, and creating for his teammates.

2027 SF [player_tooltip player_id='2754694' first='Charles' last='Schaben'] (Lewis Central) -- 20 points (7-12 FG, 1-3 3P, 5-6 FT), 14 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals [vs. Bellevue East, NE]

Schaben is a 6-7 wing who can stuff the stat sheet in a variety of ways, as he did against Bellevue East last week, putting up a huge double-double in helping the Titans put together a nice win. He's a good finisher around the rim, using his size to his advantage.

2026 PF [player_tooltip player_id='2617486' first='Charles' last='Crane'] (Dowling Catholic) -- 10 points (4-9 FG, 0-3 3P, 2-4 FT), 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 8 blocks [at Waukee]

A rangy defender who is one of the best rim protectors the state has seen in recent years, Crane blocked eight shots against one of the most explosive offensive teams in the state. His ability to defend on the perimeter, recover and block a shot at the rim, is rivaled by few in the state.
