Warren Township Middle School Tournament- All Tourney 2nd Team

The players on this list showed out Saturday afternoon! Whether it's scoring, rebounding, play-making or defending, these young man showed how great they were on the basketball court.    I was told by a coach that Andre could play. He was right because this young man literally does everything well on the basketball court. He attacks the basket, knocks down jump-shots, rebounds and defends at an elite level. There were instances in the game where he broke down his opponent, got into the lane and scored tough baskets through contact. Some of those scores led to three-point play opportunities from the foul-line. Andre is a great rebounder who played fearless in the paint. Whenever Christel House ran the floor, Andre easily scored in transition. He's a hardworking player who makes all the positive plays needed to help his team win. Defensively is where he shined. His on-ball pressure and anticipation forced multiple steals throughout the game. He's a great player who plays a vital role to the success of Christel House.     DJ continues to be a great shooter of the basketball. One of his biggest strengths is the ability to knock down three-pointers. He made three in the match-up against Anderson Highland. When I watched him play last season he made six and scored thirty points. DJ was exclusively a shooter in that game. After watching him play Saturday, I saw a player who has added more offensive skills to his game. DJ is a better ball handler and passer than he was before. In regard to scoring, he attacked his opponents off the dribble, got into the paint and finished strong at the rim. This is a new facet of DJ's game that I didn't see last season. He now has the confidence to score the ball in a variety of ways. DJ has the capability of becoming an elite player if he continues to build confidence and aggression on the basketball court. I expect DJ to have a strong season for Raymond Park. He finished the game with (16 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals.)     Daylin is a player who showed a variety of skills on the basketball court. When I watched him play Saturday afternoon, he literally did everything for his team. Daylin is a skilled post player who uses his size to dominate smaller opponents in the paint. On some occasions he showed his versatility to attack defenders off the dribble and score. Whenever Raymond Park had a chance to score in transition, he always finished strong. Rebounding and shot-blocking are major strengths of his game. Most of the rebounds he grabbed led to second chance scoring opportunities for his teammates. Daylin is a great team player who could be an important part of Raymond Park's success this season.     Aiden is a tough combo guard who has the ability to be a big time scorer. On Saturday I watched a player who showed the ability to score from every level of the court. Whether it was attacking the paint, knocking down mid-range jumpers or extending his range beyond the three-point line, Aiden was hard to handle. He was great at creating his own shot off the dribble. The quick step-back move was his weapon of choice. I watched him nail two three-pointers using this move. He's a great on-ball defender who pressed opposing players into turnovers. I have a feeling Aiden will have a great amount of high scoring games this season. He's the kind of player who could catch fire and become a major problem for opposing players and coaches. Aiden plays with an aggressive mentality that will take him far in the game of basketball.     Tremar was un-guard-able in the game against Raymond Park. . He's an excellent one-on-one player who handles the ball, beats defenders off the dribble and creates shots. His dribbling ability made getting to the basket and creating space for jump-shots look easy. Whenever he attacked the paint, he either scored or dished off assist to his teammates. There were sequences during the game where Tremar scored from all three levels of the court. He was a tough shot maker who drew fouls on multiple occasions. Whenever he saw teammates cutting to the basket, Tremar threw passes that led to a high percentage scores. If he was given open looks from behind the three-point line, Tremar knocked them down with no hesitation. On defense, he was a terror! Tremar applied great on-ball pressure to opposing guards. His quick hands and footwork led to numerous turnovers and mistakes. Tremar has the offensive skills to play an important role in Anderson Highland's success this season.     Nigel is an excellent passer who is capable of being a serious scoring threat. On Saturday he started the game by looking to get his teammates involved. Most of his passes were flashy and on the money. One in particular, was a slick bounce pass he threw in between multiple defenders. The pass was perfectly placed near the basket where his teammate easily scored. He finished the game as the team leader in assists. In the second half, Nigel was more aggressive on the offensive side of the court. He attacked his opponents off the dribble, finished strong at the rim and nailed three-pointers on multiple occasions. Nigel has a excellent mid-range jump-shot. He was great at using the dribble to create the space he needed to get his shot off. Defensively, he excelled at playing the pass lanes. His great timing and on-ball pressure forced multiple turnovers. Ball handling was a difficult task for the opposition. Nigel has the talent to become a special player as he continues to grow and mature.
