Team Preview: Paw Paw

They are the defending Wolverine Conference champions and any contenders this year must come through them. Paw Paw is eyeing a district championship and is a team that's ready to take on the tough competition in the Grand Rapids area. They are one of the most experienced teams that you'll find this season and they play excellent basketball between the ears. Paw Paw will play a monster of a schedule, featuring a game against highly regarded and talented South Bend St. Joseph. They will be a must see and fun to watch team. Paw Paw does an excellent job taking advantage of their perimeter talent with their high paced, baseline to baseline game.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">OUTLOOK</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Paw Paw has earned the tag "GuardU" as they've had a number of very talented perimeter players in the program. That nickname will fit again this year as they are led by an elite backcourt. The Paw Paw squad will be led by 4 year starting senior <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1588172' first='Truman' last='Brennan']</strong> and 3 year starting guard <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1974621' first='Kaelin' last='Tate']</strong>. That's a high school backcourt with 3 years of experience starting together. That's pretty rare and a huge advantage. Brennan only needs 42 points to pass the 1000 point mark. <strong>Elias Sonnenberg</strong> is a terrific wing defender that can be counted on to pick up big stops. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2360488' first='Caden' last='Bowen']</strong> will play a key role in Paw Paw's success as well.
