Final 2024-25 Standings:

1. Barneveld 16-3 (20-7); 2. Argyle 14-5 (18-8); 3. Pecatonica 10-9 (14-12); 4. Albany 8-11 (11-14); 5. Monticello 4-15 (7-18); 6. Black Hawk 3-16 (3-21); 7. Juda 2-17 (4-20).

2025-26 Picks

1. Pecatonica -- Scoring likely will not be a problem for Pecatonica as four players return who can put the ball in the hoop. Leading the way for the Vikings is junior [player_tooltip player_id='2621236' first='Griffin' last='Noll'] (6-3, 25 ppg, 5 rpg), the most prolific scorer in the league and the son of head coach, Scott Noll. [player_tooltip player_id='2621236' first='Griffin' last='Noll'] has grown since the end of last season and his smooth jump shot and ability to score off the dribble will be big assets for Pecatonica. Additional returning starters from a 14-12 squad include senior Cohlman Schlimigen (6-1, 6 ppg, 4 rpg) along with juniors [player_tooltip player_id='2912952' first='Marty' last='Anderson'] (5-10, 9 ppg, 5 rpg) and Luke Leonhard (6-1, 8 ppg, 6.5 rpg). Depth is solid for the Vikings with senior [player_tooltip player_id='3021687' first='Austin' last='Enloe'] (6-1, 2 ppg, 2 rpg) along with juniors [player_tooltip player_id='3021681' first='Bo' last='Stateler'] (6-1, 3 ppg, 4 rpg) and [player_tooltip player_id='3021682' first='Alex' last='Domine'] (6-1, 2 ppg) also playing important roles.

2. Argyle -- An 18-8 season a year ago was a lot of fun for Argyle fans, but coach Jesse Halvorsen lost three starters from that team, including a pair of double-figure scorers in Ike Waage (6-1, 17.4 ppg, 7.0 rpg) and Mason McNett (5-10, 12.2 ppg, 6.2 rpg). Halvorsen, though, does have two talented returnees in seniors [player_tooltip player_id='2381700' first='Jeremiah' last='Collins'] (6-3, 10.8 ppg, 7.0 rpg) and [player_tooltip player_id='2970038' first='Deacon' last='Kubly'] (6-0, 10.3 ppg, 4.2 rpg). Collins has committed to NAIA IU -- Columbus and is a solid defender in addition to his ability to score. Also back for the Orioles are senior [player_tooltip player_id='2970044' first='Caleb' last='McKenna'] (6-0) along with sophomores [player_tooltip player_id='2834283' first='Joe' last='Soper'] (6-2) and Mikey Helvogt (6-4). Size and physicality are assets for Argyle while lack of experience is a concern.

3. Barneveld -- The Eagles look to fly to their fourth straight Six Rivers East championship and will attempt to do so with a veteran roster. Coach Tyler Sullivan has four starters and some key backups returning from a squad that finished 20-7. Leading the way for Barneveld is first-team all-league performer [player_tooltip player_id='2957372' first='Hunter' last='Larson'], a 6-foot-1 forward who came off the bench a year ago to average 14 points and three rebounds. The senior class is strong at Barneveld as [player_tooltip player_id='3018989' first='Judson' last='Poad'] (6-3, 8.5 ppg, 3 rpg), [player_tooltip player_id='3018985' first='Ty' last='Thousand'] (6-2, 6 ppg, 4.5 rpg), [player_tooltip player_id='3018990' first='Cooper' last='Shipman'] (6-2, 5 ppg, 4 rpg), [player_tooltip player_id='3018988' first='Konnor' last='Jasinski'] (5-11, 9 ppg, 3 rpg) and Adan Knight (6-2, 3 ppg, 3 rpg) also return. Depth is a strength for the marquee program in the Six Rivers East.

4. Monticello -- Mark Olson, the dean of coaches in the Six Rivers East, begins his 17th season as the head man at Monticello with just one returning regular from a 7-18 squad in junior wing [player_tooltip player_id='2636048' first='Hunter' last='Grossen'] (6-1, 10 ppg, 5 rpg). Grossen will give the Ponies some dependable scoring and rebounding, but he will need help. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='2371876' first='Presley' last='Ladwig'] (6-1, 7 ppg, 5 rpg) and junior [player_tooltip player_id='3021282' first='Tyler' last='Constantini'] (5-11) will contend for starting roles after coming off the bench last season. Also in contention for starting roles will be seniors [player_tooltip player_id='3021280' first='Levi' last='Truttmann'] (5-9) and Kole McCutchin (6-2) along with junior Milo Smith (6-2).

5. Albany -- Will Soderberg takes over the coaching duties at Albany from his father, Kurt, and has some experience to work with from last year's 11-14 club. Junior [player_tooltip player_id='2636025' first='Ty' last='Durtschi'] (6-5, 16.5 ppg, 4.8 rpg) is one of the better players in the Six Rivers East and is a returning first-team all-league performer. Also returning is senior forward [player_tooltip player_id='2956837' first='Tyler' last='Patchen'] (6-4, 5.4 ppg, 3.7 rpg), giving Soderberg two talented and veteran frontline pieces. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='3018809' first='Kamron' last='Parker'] (6-1, 1.3 ppg, 1.9 rpg) saw some time off the bench while senior [player_tooltip player_id='3018807' first='Kaleb' last='Broughton'] (5-7) and sophomore Kamden Broughton (5-2) will compete for playing time in the backcourt.

6. Black Hawk -- It's been three seasons since the Warriors finished with an above .500 record in the league and that streak could continue this winter as Black Hawk lacks size and varsity experience. Coach Michael Flanagan Jr. is attempting to get this proud program back in contention in the Six Rivers and will attempt to this winter behind a couple of returning starters from a 3-23 squad in senior [player_tooltip player_id='3019080' first='Jacob' last='Woodruff'] (5-11, 7.3 ppg, 5.1 rpg) and junior [player_tooltip player_id='3019075' first='Cole' last='Dunlavey'] (6-3, 5.0 ppg, 6.3 rpg). Outside of Woodruff and Dunlaveny, Black Hawk is very inexperienced. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='3019081' first='Cooper' last='Baumgartner'] (5-11, 2.1 ppg, 1.6 rpg) and sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='3019078' first='Grant' last='Quinn'] (6-0, 1.7 ppg, 1.4 rpg) figure to contend for starting spots.

7. Juda -- For the first time in a while, Juda has some veterans on its roster and could well be poised for a much better campaign than a year ago when it went 4-20. Coach Cole Mahlkuch starts his third season with four returning starters in seniors [player_tooltip player_id='3020453' first='Brayden' last='Steinmann'] (5-9, 10.4 ppg), [player_tooltip player_id='3020452' first='Treston' last='Gobeli'] (5-8, 4.3 ppg), [player_tooltip player_id='3020447' first='Jayden' last='Brown'] (6-0, 20.7 ppg) and [player_tooltip player_id='2636038' first='Easton' last='Hess'] (5-5, 8.8 ppg). Lack of size is a concern for the Panthers, who ended a 58-game losing streak on December 7, 2024 with a 68-38 victory over Saint Anthony.

Top Returning Scorers

[player_tooltip player_id='2621236' first='Griffin' last='Noll'] (Pecatonica) 25.0 ppg
[player_tooltip player_id='3020447' first='Jayden' last='Brown'] (Juda) 20.7 ppg
[player_tooltip player_id='2636025' first='Ty' last='Durtschi'] (Albany) 16.5 ppg
[player_tooltip player_id='2957372' first='Hunter' last='Larson'] (Barneveld) 14.0 ppg
[player_tooltip player_id='2381700' first='Jeremiah' last='Collins'] (Argyle) 10.8 ppg
[player_tooltip player_id='3020453' first='Brayden' last='Steinmann'] (Juda) 10.4 ppg
[player_tooltip player_id='2970038' first='Deacon' last='Kubly'] (Argyle) 10.3 ppg
[player_tooltip player_id='2636048' first='Hunter' last='Grossen'] (Monticello) 10.0 ppg
[player_tooltip player_id='2912952' first='Marty' last='Anderson'] (Pecatonica) 9.1 ppg
[player_tooltip player_id='3018988' first='Konnor' last='Jasinski'] (Barneveld) 9.0 ppg

Projected All-Conference Teams
First Team

[player_tooltip player_id='2636025' first='Ty' last='Durtschi'], 6-5, Jr., Albany
[player_tooltip player_id='2381700' first='Jeremiah' last='Collins'], 6-3, Sr., Argyle
[player_tooltip player_id='2957372' first='Hunter' last='Larson'], 6-1, Sr., Barneveld
[player_tooltip player_id='2636048' first='Hunter' last='Grossen'], 6-1, Jr., Monticello
[player_tooltip player_id='2621236' first='Griffin' last='Noll'], 6-3, Jr., Pecatonica

Second Team
[player_tooltip player_id='2956837' first='Tyler' last='Patchen'], 6-4, Sr., Albany
[player_tooltip player_id='2970038' first='Deacon' last='Kubly'], 6-0, Sr., Argyle
[player_tooltip player_id='3018989' first='Judson' last='Poad'], 6-3, Sr., Barneveld
[player_tooltip player_id='3019080' first='Jacob' last='Woodruff'], 5-11, Sr., Black Hawk
[player_tooltip player_id='3020447' first='Jayden' last='Brown'], 6-0, Sr., Juda

The Big Five

Best Shooter: [player_tooltip player_id='2621236' first='Griffin' last='Noll'], Pecatonica
Best Defender: [player_tooltip player_id='2912952' first='Marty' last='Anderson'], Pecatonica
Best Rebounder: [player_tooltip player_id='2381700' first='Jeremiah' last='Collins'], Argyle
Best Collegiate Prospect: [player_tooltip player_id='2621236' first='Griffin' last='Noll'], Pecatonica
Most Improved: [player_tooltip player_id='2956837' first='Tyler' last='Patchen'], Albany

Final 2024-25 Standings:

1. Barneveld 16-3 (20-7); 2. Argyle 14-5 (18-8); 3. Pecatonica 10-9 (14-12); 4. Albany 8-11 (11-14); 5. Monticello 4-15 (7-18); 6. Black Hawk 3-16 (3-21); 7. Juda 2-17 (4-20).
