I attended the New England Basketball League Opening Weekend at the New Balance Track in Boston this past weekend. I found some some players to be extrodinary and many I have not seen before. I wanted to get the names out there who I think made tremendous leaps since last year or players that were eye opening that need homes next year in college or in a couple years. CLICK THIS for PART I and HERE for Part II. If you want updates/scores/highlights all season long from high school basketball in and around Massachusetts follow me on X - @jayjohnson88 or instagram - @ambrosepe.

Dude is a monster at 6'9” 240 of pure muscle bullying people on either end of the floor. Hard working with high energy who can run with anyone. He will get D1 offers for sure. He can make an impact for Southland, Southern leagues now or keep improving and be an impact player in leagues such as A10, Mountain West, West Coast Conference. His footwork around the rim is good but will only get more effective. He shoots for average but I can foresee him being above average in high percentage shooting category. He can jump over players as well creating extra possessions.

Built player who can bully smaller guards. Gets multiple paint touches off the dribble a game. With that being said scores very well in the paint especially drawing multiple fouls a game. Rebounds very well for a guard. Defensively is aggressive on the ball. A few D1 interest now but after the season 20 plus schools will be calling for him. I like his energy but hoping to see him shoot free throws for a little higher percentage and be able to stretch the floor more at the next level.

Elliot is one of the more improved players on his team and in the NEBL. He is coming out of the gate shooting well from deep and being extra depth on this team that has studs. He can easily get 10p and 5r a game in this league, but has the chance for more given opportunity. Shooting above average in the free throw category. A good defender but has two full seasons left in high school. He is drawing D1 interest now but I am very excited to see where he lands because he will end up with close to 30 offers.

Gets to the paint effectively, as a combo guard can help relieve the pressure from point guard handling the ball. Shoots the rock well around the paint, but can grab rebounds on the other side. David is D1 talent and probably over looked because of the talent he is surrounded by. Underrated player who deserves more D1 offers. Listed at 6'4” but plays like he is 6'8” with his prowess on the ball defense. A true stock riser in my opinion.

He is as impressive as anyone I have seen with his passing skills, no looks, wizardry with behind the backs all with accuracy. A high assist to turnover player capable of making shots in bunches within the perimeter. The Princeton commit will be fun to watch this season and in college. He processes what the defensive players are doing at an ultra-fast rate and exposing them. Look for him to continue to improve on his deeper range shots more efficiently. Even though he is committed, he deserves to be recognized in this article because of his jump in improvement from last year.

A tremendous motor, high spirited and hardworking player. He changed the complexion of the 1st NEBL game for Cushing with his shot efficiency in OT scoring 10 points in 3 minutes. In that same OT caused turnovers with key rebounds. He has improved tremendously over the last 3 years with his all-around game. He will have a very successful D3 career in college or be an important piece for a D2 program. He also has the talent to play D1 if he wanted because of high effort and his skills are almost there and continuing to improve.
