1. Lomira -- The Lions are on the prowl and extremely anxious for the season to begin. And no one more than senior center [player_tooltip player_id='1561934' first='Jake' last='Broeske'] (6-10, 21.5 ppg, 12.8 rpg), who missed most of last season with an ACL injury but it poised to start the new campaign at 100 percent. Broeske is a potential NCAA Division I recruit who can dominate the game near the basket while also having the skill to face up and score from mid range and the perimeter. Broeske leads a talented cast for first-year coach Nick Kohler that also includes returning starters [player_tooltip player_id='2381926' first='Keegan' last='Kell'] (6-0, 10.0 ppg, 2.7 rpg), [player_tooltip player_id='2140902' first='Charlie' last='Cole'] (5-10, 9.2 ppg, 1.8 rpg) and [player_tooltip player_id='2386273' first='Hunter' last='Duley'] (5-10, 5.4 ppg, 3.1 rpg). Also returning for the Lions are juniors [player_tooltip player_id='2381930' first='Blake' last='Steger'] (6-3, 5.2 ppg) and [player_tooltip player_id='2826123' first='Cooper' last='King'] (6-0, 1.6 ppg) along with sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2673551' first='Maddox' last='Bodden'] (5-10, 2.8 ppg).

2. Winnebago Lutheran -- Led by the dynamic all-around play of senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1561878' first='Gannan' last='Schwartz'] (5-10, 22.7 ppg, 3.8 rpg), the Vikings figure to be one of the elite teams in the Flyway this winter. The returning Player of the Year in the league, Schwartz also averaged 4.3 apg and begins his senior year with 1,273 career points. Coach Mason DeNoyer also welcomes back a few top backups from a team that went 16-10 in seniors [player_tooltip player_id='2381613' first='Sam' last='Ferguson'] (6-3, 6.6 ppg, 4.0 rpg), [player_tooltip player_id='2949778' first='Spencer' last='Loehr'] (5-11, 1.2 ppg, 1.2 rpg) and [player_tooltip player_id='2381615' first='Evan' last='Gensler'] (6-1) along with junior Isaac LeMotte (5-10) and sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2552682' first='Hudson' last='Henry'] (5-8, 5.7 ppg). Shooting, guard play and athleticism are listed strengths for the Vikings.

3. Mayville -- Senior leadership and physicality are assets for Mayville, which boasts several talented multi-sport athletes who currently excelling on the football field. Coach Emmit Hurtienne starts his first season with three regulars back from a 7-18 squad in seniors [player_tooltip player_id='2386922' first='Tate' last='Drinkwine'] (6-3, 4.5 ppg, 5.6 rpg), [player_tooltip player_id='2824941' first='Talan' last='Meyer'] (6-2, 11.8 ppg, 4.8 rpg) and [player_tooltip player_id='2447321' first='Emerson' last='Mittelstadt'] (6-0, 4.6 ppg, 2.9 rpg). Mittelstadt is the starting quarterback for the Mayville football team that has won its first 11 outings. Reserves [player_tooltip player_id='3020966' first='Braxton' last='Wiese'] (5-11, 4.8 ppg, 2.4 rpg), [player_tooltip player_id='3020964' first='Kevin' last='Keller'] (5-11), [player_tooltip player_id='2416202' first='Joe' last='Promersberger'] (5-11, 2.5 ppg, 2.7 rpg) and [player_tooltip player_id='2643542' first='Cooper' last='Raddemann'] (6-1) also return for the Cardinals.

4. Omro -- Steven Egan has done a masterful job of making Omro one of the top programs in the Flyway Conference. During his five years as head coach, the Foxes own a 73-50 record, including an 11-12 mark a year ago. Three seniors, all of whom started a year ago, form the nucleus for Egan's sixth team. They include [player_tooltip player_id='2962473' first='Blake' last='Stachura'] (6-2, 9.3 ppg, 3.8 rpg), [player_tooltip player_id='2962474' first='Keagan' last='Miller'] (5-10, 8.1 ppg, 3.6 rpg) and Lucas [player_tooltip player_id='2881794' first='Kasuboski' last=''] (6-3, 3.8 ppg, 4.3 rpg). Three seniors who came off the bench last winter also return in [player_tooltip player_id='2962475' first='Dylan' last='Thomas'] (6-4, 5.5 ppg, 2.4 rpg), [player_tooltip player_id='3021595' first='Tyler' last='Roesler'] (6-2) and [player_tooltip player_id='2385242' first='Deven' last='Hubanks'] (6-1). Juniors [player_tooltip player_id='2385494' first='Devin' last='Allison'] (6-6, 3.8 ppg, 3.0 rpg) and [player_tooltip player_id='3021596' first='Ralphie' last='King'] (5-10) also could play big roles for Omro.

5. Saint Mary's Springs -- The Ledgers have won four of the past five league titles so picking coach Kyle Krueger's squad to finish no higher than fifth might be a stretch. However, five players who combined to average 50.8 ppg and 28.6 rpg graduated last spring, leaving lots of holes in the Saint Mary's Springs lineup. Senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1561911' first='Ben' last='Baker'] (5-10, 10.4 ppg, 3.6 rpg) is an experienced backcourt player and two-year letter winner for the Ledgers. He will have to play an enormous role this winter, particulary with senior [player_tooltip player_id='2381687' first='Jack' last='Holzmann'] (6-3, 3.1 ppg) lost for the year with a knee injury. Juniors [player_tooltip player_id='3022393' first='Joey' last='Coon'] (5-11, 2.2 ppg), [player_tooltip player_id='3022395' first='Jack' last='Judkins'] (5-11), [player_tooltip player_id='3022398' first='Bentley' last='Kutz'] (6-0) and [player_tooltip player_id='3022396' first='Zayne' last='Wilson'] (6-0) figure to play important roles along with newcomers from the JV1 team.

6. Laconia -- The status of senior [player_tooltip player_id='1561935' first='Cash' last='Farrell'] (6-2, 17.2 ppg, 5.5 rpg) is the big question at Laconia. He tore his ACL in the spring and has been in rehab since. Laconia might get Farrell back in the lineup in late January, but there is no current certain timeline. With or without Farrell, Laconia coach Dylan Wurtz plans to play a young lineup that could include a couple of freshmen in [player_tooltip player_id='2403321' first='Asher' last='Morgan'] (5-11) and [player_tooltip player_id='2382277' first='Izec' last='Grade'] (6-1). Seniors [player_tooltip player_id='2949748' first='Beckett' last='Weisgerber'] (6-1, 2.0 ppg) and [player_tooltip player_id='3020619' first='Owen' last='Leonard'] (6-1) will be in the mix as will juniors [player_tooltip player_id='2381569' first='Reid' last='Langenfeld'] (6-0) and [player_tooltip player_id='2628291' first='Mason' last='Langenfeld'] (6-3). The Spartans' JV1 squad went 19-3 so newcomers from that talented team also figure to contend for playing time.

7. Campbellsport -- The Cougars, as usual, will not be an easy out of opponents. Although coach Ethan Elliott lost three starters, he does return a pair of seniors who have proven their worth in the Flyway in [player_tooltip player_id='2417165' first='Noah' last='Bobb'] (6-2, 11.1 ppg, 5.7 rpg) and [player_tooltip player_id='2949740' first='Jace' last='Goebel'] (6-2, 9.0 pg, 4.1 rpg). With Bobb and Goebel leading the way, Campbellsport figures to have enough firepower to pull some upsets this winter. Known for their scrappy defensive nature, the Cougars also return seniors [player_tooltip player_id='3019307' first='Trent' last='Schladweiler'] (5-10, 4.5 ppg, 2 rpg), [player_tooltip player_id='3019312' first='Cullen' last='Reis'] (6-0, 1.5 ppg) and Cayden FLasch (5-10) along with junior [player_tooltip player_id='3019310' first='Carter' last='Gellings'] (5-9, 3.8 ppg).

8. North Fond du Lac -- Losers of 42 straight league games and 54 of its last 56 conference outings over the past four seasons, North Fond du Lac is looking to gain respectability this winter under first-year coach Tony Puddy. Four players who saw extensive action a year ago are back for the Orioles in seniors [player_tooltip player_id='2852645' first='Dimitri' last='Reed'] (6-0, 6.8 ppg, 2.7 rpg) and [player_tooltip player_id='2962518' first='Kaisyn' last='Schraufnagel'] (5-11, 2.6 ppg) wlong with junior [player_tooltip player_id='2962520' first='Drew' last='Stettbacher'] (5-8, 3.0 ppg, 2.6 rpg) and sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='3021472' first='Mario' last='Romo'] (6-2, 9.2 ppg, 5.9 rpg). Reducing turnovers and improved rebounding are among the keys to success for North Fond du Lac in 2025-26.

Top Returning Scorers

[player_tooltip player_id='1561878' first='Gannan' last='Schwartz'] (Winnebago Lutheran) 22.7 ppg
[player_tooltip player_id='1561934' first='Jake' last='Broeske'] (Lomira) 21.5 ppg
[player_tooltip player_id='1561935' first='Cash' last='Farrell'] (Laconia) 17.2 ppg
[player_tooltip player_id='2824941' first='Talan' last='Meyer'] (Mayville) 11.8 ppg
[player_tooltip player_id='2417165' first='Noah' last='Bobb'] (Campbellsport) 11.1 ppg
[player_tooltip player_id='1561911' first='Ben' last='Baker'] (Saint Mary's Springs) 10.4 ppg
[player_tooltip player_id='2381926' first='Keegan' last='Kell'] (Lomira) 10.0 ppg
[player_tooltip player_id='2962473' first='Blake' last='Stachura'] (Omro) 9.3 ppg

Projected All-Conference Teams
First Team

[player_tooltip player_id='1561935' first='Cash' last='Farrell'], 6-2, Sr., Laconia
[player_tooltip player_id='1561934' first='Jake' last='Broeske'], 6-10, Sr., Lomira
[player_tooltip player_id='2824941' first='Talan' last='Meyer'], 6-2, Sr., Mayville
[player_tooltip player_id='1561911' first='Ben' last='Baker'], 5-10, Sr., Saint Mary's Springs
[player_tooltip player_id='1561878' first='Gannan' last='Schwartz'], 5-10, Sr., Winnebago Lutheran

Second Team
[player_tooltip player_id='2417165' first='Noah' last='Bobb'], 6-2, Sr, Campbellsport
[player_tooltip player_id='2381926' first='Keegan' last='Kell'], 6-0, Jr., Lomira
[player_tooltip player_id='3021472' first='Mario' last='Romo'], 6-2, Soph., North Fond du Lac
[player_tooltip player_id='2962473' first='Blake' last='Stachura'], 6-2, Sr., Omro
[player_tooltip player_id='2381613' first='Sam' last='Ferguson'], 6-3, Sr., Winnebago Lutheran

The Big Five

Best Shooter: [player_tooltip player_id='1561878' first='Gannan' last='Schwartz'], Winnebago Lutheran
Best Defender: [player_tooltip player_id='1561911' first='Ben' last='Baker'], Saint Mary's Springs
Best Rebounder: [player_tooltip player_id='1561934' first='Jake' last='Broeske'], Lomira
Best Collegiate Prospect: [player_tooltip player_id='1561934' first='Jake' last='Broeske'], Lomira
Most Improved Player: [player_tooltip player_id='2962474' first='Keagan' last='Miller'], Omro
