A very interesting part of the current group of freshman is there's already prospects who are 6 foot 5 or taller. Some of them may be longer term developmental prospects right now but the upside is BIG in the Class of 2029.

Mendez has missed time this November due to a foot injury, but a healthy Mendez will make a BIG impact for a Rejoice team filled with talented guards. Early highlights from this summer indicate that he's going to start high school with an impressive skill level. Guards are capable of playing off of him due to his passing to cutting teammates or open shooters. Has promising shooting touch from around the rim to the mid-range. One of the prospects most eager to see this winter.

Possibly the player in this article who will make the biggest impact as a freshman. Wilkerson will be one of the most physical players in Oklahoma for the Titans. An offensive tackle in football, he applies similar footwork and strength to being a force around the rim. Good modern skills with passing and touch on his jumper. Football is very likely his longterm future. But like many dual sport Titan before him, expect him to be a difference maker on the court for Carl Albert.

It's rare for a freshman to make the varsity roster for Oklahoma's largest school. McAllister has done that and will gain valuable experience battling daily with BA's senior group that has a lot of size. At his height, he's a promising athlete with flashes of perimeter skills due to good mobility and occasional shooting. Should be all over the rims by the spring. As he's a player who can potentially change games with blocks, dunks and rebounding.

Hawley is more of a wing than some of the other players listed, but his frame and athleticism means he'll be playing very big in Oklahoma. Those natural gifts, along with a strong motor will allow him to be a big time rebounder sooner rather than later. Edmond Memorial's staff has experience with using forwards/wings of similar build in mismatches around the rim. So along with doing damage off the bounce, expect Hawley to potentially eat as a post up option.

The still growing Pierce might be a year or two away from fully exerting himself as a dominant rim presence, but his time is coming. He's a legit 6 foot 8, with an even longer wingspan. Well suited to follow in the footsteps of his brother Trent, who's currently a junior at Missouri. The younger Pierce seems to be more of a traditional 4/5 prospect when compared to his brother. But wouldn't sleep on his ability in a year or two to step out and spread the floor as a stretch forward. Exciting prospect to keep tabs on going forward.

Impressed at the PH Freshman showcase in September. Good athlete with a motor to match. Seems to understand his current role and willing to play big around the rim. Has the athletic traits to make an immediate impact for a wild card Christian Heritage team that has a lot of new talented faces.
