Dinos Trigonis and the team at Pangos hosted their annual All-East Frosh/Soph Camp this past weekend, bringing in nearly two hundred underclassmen from across the East Coast. After taking in a full day of action on Sunday, we'll continue coverage with a handful of 2028's from New York who caught the eye with their play.

A Top-30 all-star choice who figures to at least have been among the short list of contenders for camp MVP, Matthews made the most of his homecoming trip with a dynamic effort on both ends of the floor. A Delaware native heading down to DME as a repeat sophomore, the southpaw hybrid forward was all over the court wreaking havoc with his top-end intersection of size, length, foot speed, and vertical explosiveness. He was a force playing above the rim as both a dunker and shot-blocker, but also showed some improvements in his overall skillset including most notably on his perimeter jumper. While still a bit raw in some areas, Matthews' ability to consistently impact games with his motor and athletic gifts should make him a popular name among D1 coaches in the years to come.

Another Delaware product making a return trip back home after transferring out of state this year, Diamond saved the highlight of the day for the right time, nearly shutting down the gym during the Top-60 all-star game after coming down the lane for an emphatic left-handed dunk on the head of an opposing shot-blocker. It was an exclamation point on a strong day overall as Diamond displayed an upside matched by few guards that we saw in attendance. With standout length and athleticism for the backcourt, he showed signs of the game continuing to slow down for him as a playmaker while also keeping things honest as a shooter from the perimeter. With a smooth skillset and athletic gifts fit for the highest levels, we'll be eager to see how close Diamond gets to reaching his potential now that he's being pushed at a high level on a daily basis.

Among the higher-upside prospects in the entire state, Taylor had caught the eye previously primarily as a run-and-jump athlete and spotup shooter on the perimeter. Those aspects fit in nicely to the up-and-down camp setting, but the young wing guard really impressed while showing added wrinkles as a scorer. On multiple occasions, Taylor was able to break his man down off the dribble and create his own shot with moves we didn't know he had in his bag. Young for his grade and stepping up to a main role on the varsity level for the first time, Taylor could begin catching D1 attention before much longer if he remains on his current track.

A breakout prospect on the weekend, Williams entered camp without much of a resumé outside the state and left with Top-60 all-star honors. The well-rounded guard stood out with his positional size and a well-rounded skillset, showing a smooth stroke out to the perimeter with confidence stepping into the midrange in the dribble pullup game. He was able to break his man down off the dribble to create his own shot and showed promising instincts in the floor game as well. In a camp littered with D1 prospects up to the highest levels, Williams more than held his own and announced himself as a likely scholarship-level prospect down the line in his own right.

It can be hard for pure point guards to stand out in camp settings that often favor scorers, but Watson was able to defy that notion in making Top-60 all-star honors by simply running the show and making others better. The two-way guard set the tone with dogged on-ball defense, forcing numerous turnovers with his relentless ball pressure. Watson was consistent in dancing to his spots efficiently off the dribble before setting teammates up for easy looks both at the rim and beyond the arc. After a strong summer on the AAU circuit, Watson continues to build momentum heading into his sophomore season with the chance to emerge as a scholarship-level floor general down the line.
