The GWC brings some fun matchups with a few out-of-state teams and a few in-state teams that rarely meet up. Here are a few players and a few teams that

Teams: Lone Peak vs. Springville

Where: American Fork High School (Court 5)

These two teams are true contenders in 5A and 6A. Lone Peak boasts exciting young talent eager to make a statement, while Springville returns with a wealth of experience.

Lone Peak will have a heavy dose of [player_tooltip player_id='1724365' first='Crew' last='Fotheringham'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1724367' first='Saxon' last='Young'], but their biggest advantage is their role players. The players that will come in and defend and hit open 3's.

Springville's game plan hinges on the performance of its star prospect, [player_tooltip player_id='1278439' first='Jamyn' last='Sondrup']. The towering 6'11 center must assert his dominance in the low post. If Sondrup can effectively control the paint, it will create significant opportunities for teammates like [player_tooltip player_id='1278449' first='Mason' last='Hansen'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1724426' first='Swift' last='Hall'].

This should be a great one. Bring your popcorn.

Both of these teams are coming off of really good years, and both bring back talented PGs in Ikenna Alioze (DCC) and [player_tooltip player_id='1278442' first='Carlo' last='Mulford'] (Herriman). This will be a solid head-to-head matchup.

Dream City Christian boasts a significant size advantage, thanks to their roster of elite bigs. Among them, keep an eye on D1 rising star Chris Brown, who has been playing exceptionally well and is poised for a breakout performance.

Teams: Provo vs. Pleasant Grove

Where: American Fork HS (Court 3)

Provo is a team that a lot of people are not talking about, and that is going to be fine because they have a few guys whose games will do all the talking. Keep an eye on [player_tooltip player_id='1598259' first='Makai' last='Allen']. He can really go! Speaking of PGs, [player_tooltip player_id='1724363' first='Preston' last='White'] and Allen should make for a very impressive matchup.

Pleasant Grove will likely start [player_tooltip player_id='2899860' first='Oliver' last='Mosman'], a very strong PF/C, and he will have [player_tooltip player_id='2125357' first='Brennan' last='Blackett'] out there on the wing. These two, along with [player_tooltip player_id='1724363' first='Preston' last='White'], should make for a big-time trio. However, the addition of [player_tooltip player_id='1598261' first='Jaxon' last='Brown'] could create problems for the opposing team's point guard position.

Provo will need a lot from Allen, but they have help in [player_tooltip player_id='1960161' first='Callen' last='Tollestrup']. He comes over from Timpview, and he can really play. He can shoot the ball, and he has the size to be a do-it-all player out there. Tollestrup's versatility will be a key asset, as he can contribute in multiple areas on the court, making him a valuable addition to the team's overall performance.

Two elite PG's are going at it in this one.

Teams: Bingham vs. Judge Memorial

Where: American Fork HS (Court 1)

Two solid teams are poised to make a run in their respective classifications. Judge has a few new players and a few returners that will make some noise. Bingham has a few players coming back, and you should see a lot more [player_tooltip player_id='1278436' first='Luke' last='West'] this year.

Bingham is not only relying on one player in [player_tooltip player_id='1278436' first='Luke' last='West']; they have a few other players like Parker Snedeker and [player_tooltip player_id='2852131' first='Will' last='Cain'], as well as [player_tooltip player_id='2388584' first='Lucas' last='Neidig']. This team has some size and some interchangeable guards.

The judge has some good players, and we are excited to watch [player_tooltip player_id='1926070' first='Massaer' last='Mbodj'], a very athletic wing that can be a big-time game changer. [player_tooltip player_id='1438933' first='AJ' last='Peek'] is a do-it-all guard who is able to defend multiple positions. Then you have a player like [player_tooltip player_id='1614839' first='Aymen' last='Ismail'] who can shoot the lights out.

This game should be a very interesting one, but it will help both teams get better.
