CP3NMSC North (PHL) Superlatives: 7th Grade Athletes

Philadelphia, PA — The CP3 North National Middle School Combine showcased some of the nation's premier young talent this past weekend, as the class of 2031 delivered with athleticism, energy, and confidence. From explosive leapers to quick-footed defenders, this group consistently turned heads with their physical tools and competitiveness. In part one of our 7th-grade coverage, we highlight the top athletes, players who made their mark with their burst, body control, and ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor.    Bryce Brathwaite put his athleticism on full display at the 2025 CP3 North Middle School Combine, making a strong impact on both ends of the floor. He was tough to contain in transition, using his speed and explosiveness to get to the rim and finish. Defensively, his athletic ability allowed him to switch and guard multiple positions effectively, disrupting plays and covering a lot of ground. Brathwaite's energy and versatility made him one of the more dynamic two-way players of the weekend.     Johnny Jackson was one of the top impact players at the 2025 CP3 North Middle School Combine, using his athleticism to dominate in multiple areas. He scored in a variety of ways, attacking the basket with force and finishing efficiently. Defensively, Jackson competed at a high level, using his quickness and strength to make plays on that end. His advanced athletic tools and well-rounded skill set were on full display, making it clear his game translates well to the next level.     Ithiel Mensah showcased his two-way impact throughout the 2025 CP3 North Middle School Combine, leaning on his athleticism to make plays on both ends. He was at his best with the ball in his hands, attacking defenders and creating scoring opportunities for himself and teammates. Defensively, Mensah used his quickness and strength to slow down some of the better guards at the event, proving to be a reliable stopper. His blend of athleticism, skill, and energy made him one of the more well-rounded performers of the weekend.     Jamaad Newsome used his athleticism to be a productive two-way presence throughout the 2025 CP3 North Middle School Combine. His explosiveness allowed him to score at all three levels, whether attacking the basket, pulling up in the midrange, or hitting from deep. On the defensive end, Newsome's quickness and activity created constant problems for opposing guards, as he disrupted passing lanes and applied pressure. His blend of athleticism and impact on both ends made him one of the more dynamic performers of the event.     Mayzen Somlar leaned on his athleticism to make a strong two-way impact throughout the 2025 CP3 North Middle School Combine. He showcased a versatile scoring ability, finding ways to put the ball in the basket from multiple spots on the floor. Defensively, Somlar's quickness and activity stood out as he created turnovers and immediately turned them into transition opportunities.
