With the updated 2027 rankings coming out earlier this summer, we decided to take a look at who some of the top players at each position are. Here's a look at part two of the top ranked power forwards and centers in the junior class in VA.

11) [player_tooltip player_id='2470584' first='Maddox' last='Patrick'] | 6'7” PF | Trinity Episcopal (#54 Overall)

Patrick is a player I would put a lot of confidence in to be a breakout player in his junior season, after overcoming some injuries and showing a lot of upside in his first couple of seasons in high school. The 6'7” forward has a well rounded game with the ability to score around the rim with both hands and over smaller defenders, he's a good trail threat as a shooter and has the ability to crash the glass when he gets downhill, and he has a lot of mismatch qualities with his inside-out ability and fluid athleticism as well.

10) [player_tooltip player_id='2548293' first='Conner' last='Wilcox'] | 6'6' PF | Atlee (#52 Overall)

Wilcox has been one of the top young players in the Richmond area over the past few years, as he's been an All Region selection both seasons and was a big part of Atlee shocking everyone on their way to a VHSL Class 4 state championship last year. Wilcox is a very efficient and productive player across the board as he can post up and score in the paint, he is a good rebounder even over bigger opponents, he can stretch the floor with his shooting ability, and he brings a competitive chip on both ends of the floor.

9) [player_tooltip player_id='2624511' first='Germain' last='Green'] | 6'7” PF | Norcom (#41 Overall)

Green is one of the more high upside prospects in these rankings, as he's an athletic and high motor big man that is still quite raw but has a base skillset that should improve and is still highly productive with his ability to impact the game without needing the ball. He runs the floor hard and is able to play above the rim when he gets downhill, he rebounds well on both ends of the floor in traffic, he is a good rim protector with the ability to move his feet and switch, and he shows good touch at the rim and out to the elbows too.

8) [player_tooltip player_id='2896959' first='Daniel' last='Russell'] | 6'8” C | Potomac School (#35 Overall)

Russell had a breakout summer with Potomac School in the Capitol Hoops Summer League and the two DMV Live sessions, and he's in a great spot for a talented squad that really will benefit from his size and skill in the post. The 6'8” big plays with a good motor and has some old school to his game with his ability to bang in the paint and finish with both hands, he runs the floor hard and attacks the rim on the offensive end, he's very good at challenging and altering shots without fouling, and he has shown the ability to stretch the floor as well.

7) [player_tooltip player_id='2470603' first='Nathan' last='Lessley'] | 6'6” PF | Cox (#34 Overall)

Lessley has been one of the top young players in the 757 over the past few years, and he's one of the toughest guys to game plan for with his mismatch ability as a hybrid forward who can score the ball in a number of different ways. While he's only 6'6” he's a long and mobile athlete who can get downhill and use his athleticism to finish at or above the rim, he can knock down shots from deep off the catch, he can size up slower defenders and take them off the bounce, and he's able to guard multiple positions with his footwork to stay in front and length to challenge shots as well.

6) [player_tooltip player_id='2108094' first='Braydon' last='Young'] | 6'8” PF | Paul VI (#30 Overall)

Young transferred to PVI from Baltimore this past summer, giving the Panthers a great addition to their front court and the ability to create mismatches with his ability to play inside-out as a stretch big man and a guy who can bang int he paint as well. The 6'8” forward has great touch around the rim with both hands and is very good at drawing contact and finishing through it as well. He can stretch the floor from deep off the catch and attack closeouts off the bounce, he's a very good passer for his size, and he's a good rebounder on both ends of the floor as well.
