Spotlight Invitational – All Invitational First-Team

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Spotlight Invitational took place on Saturday evening, and many of Oregon's top high school players were at Clackamas High School for some high-level competition. We had the opportunity to watch the action from start to finish. Here are the players for the Spotlight Invitational All-Event First Team.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2026487' first='Muhammed' last='Carter'] (2027 Wells) - Carter was arguably the top athlete at the event, as he showcased his athleticism on both sides of the floor. There was a sequence where Carter had a high-flying breakaway dunk, then ran back down the floor to block a shot at the rim. Mo will definitely be one of the top forwards in the PIL this coming season.   </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2132836' first='Avery' last='Johnson'] (2027 Sherwood) - Avery impressed with his quickness and up-tempo style of play, establishing himself as one of the top athletic guards in his class. Johnson showcased the ability to score from all three levels, finishing strong at the rim while also displaying a smooth shooting touch. He played unselfishly, demonstrated a high basketball IQ, and consistently made winning plays for his team.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Carson Morningstar (2026 Prairie/WA) - One of the few prospects from Washington, Carson was arguably one of the top bigs we saw at the Spotlight Invitational. Standing at 6-foot-9, he was very active on the boards and protected the rim on many occasions. He continued to run the floor at a good pace and was able to play above the rim as well, getting a couple of dunks in transition.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2485547' first='Jamarea' last='Sanders'] (2028 Roosevelt) - Sanders was very consistent with his play, showing the ability to knock down shots in rhythm and string together scoring runs. Jamarea excelled at attacking the rim and finishing through contact.&nbsp; He proved to be an underrated slasher who could get downhill to create opportunities for himself and his teammates. He also demonstrated the ability to finish with his right hand, making him one of the toughest players to guard at the event.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1951856' first='Jaxon' last='Lawson'] (2026 Canby) - A 6'1 point guard who plays with great pace and unselfishness. Lawson stood out as a true team player with good vision and passing ability, consistently setting up teammates for quality looks. He was active on the boards, used his quickness and speed effectively, and impacted the game on both ends of the floor.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
