Our annual Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase is arguably the most popular event that we put on each year. Not only is it a great opportunity for our staff to get an early evaluation of some of the most talented freshmen before the begin their high school career, but it also serves as an important evaluation/recruiting tool for our state's many great AAU programs. This year we welcomed in over 100 of the best Class of 2029 prospects here in Indiana. Here are our evaluations from the prospects that made up Team 4 at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase.

We first got eyes on Yoder when he received varsity action for Westview during the Charlie Hughes Showcase in June. He might just be about 5'4"-5"5, but he is as skilled of a guard as you will come by. Yoder is an excellent passer that knifes his way through the defense with ease, draws the attention of multiple defenders, and can make any play that is given to him. Obviously a big part of his long-term prospectus will come down to physical growth, but the skill set is there for him to be a REALLY good player. He will get legitimate varsity action for a very good Class 2A team this winter.

Wilson proved himself as a very good perimeter shooting threat at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. The 5'10" guard is at his best when playing off of the ball where he can run off of screens and spot up as a catch-and-shoot threat. He gets his shot off quickly, has good footwork, and can extend his range a few feet beyond the arc. The South Central (Elizabeth) High School prospect slid over and played some point guard, but it was the shot-making that really stood out and makes Wilson a prospect to follow in the years to come.

Goff is a talented playmaker with a burst of athleticism when getting downhill. He can get by his man on the perimeter and then does a great job of either exploding to the rim to finish or kicking out to open teammates as the defense collapses around him. The 5'10" guard from Northview High School played with good pace in ballscreen situations and looked entirely comfortable as he helped to run the offense for Team 4. Good things happened when the was in his hands. Northview is pretty loaded with talent right now, but Goff definitely will be the Knights' next wave of star players.

There is no doubt that Gold Jr. is one of the most talented playmakers in Indiana's Class of 2029. He will likely step in and be a starting guard in Cathedral High School's backcourt from day one which is not easy to do. The 6'1" guard is so shifty with the ball in his hands. He gets to his spots quickly and efficiently without a lot of wasted dribbles. Additionally, Gold Jr. can really get going from beyond the arc. He will put pressure on defenses in ballscreen situations and will attract the attention of multiple defenders well beyond the arc. Definitely one of the top freshmen in the state at this point.

Pritchard is an athletic 6'0" guard from North Central (Farmersburg) High School. He fit into his role well within Team 4 at the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp. The ball never stuck when it hit his hands, he did a great job of spacing the floor, and was an active/effective cutter. On the defensive end of the floor he displayed active hands, switched across different positions, and helped in the rebounding efforts as well.

Brock brought a strong, physical build to the front court for Team 4 at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. The 6'1" hybrid wing/forward was one of several impressive young prospects from Bloomington High School North that attended our event. He was effective as a straight line, right hand driver and finished well around the basket. Brock also was a multi-positional defender and consistently helped in the rebounding effort.

A catch-and-shoot specialist with good size on the perimeter, Alcock was a prospect from southern Indiana that we had heard a good deal about heading into Sunday's event. The 6'2" guard from Seymour High School has a long, lean build and definitely looks smooth as a spot-up shooter on the perimeter. It will be interesting to see how he factors into the Owls' rotation early in his high school career.
