NJ Legacy Get In Get Out Showcase Additional Standouts

Amid the flurry of fall preseason showcases, New Jersey Legacy Basketball hosted another highly competitive event this past weekend, drawing some of North Jersey's top talent. Held at Weequahic High School in Newark, NJ, the showcase featured intense matchups between elite programs and spotlighted standout individual performances. This one-day event offered an early preview of players' projected roles heading into the upcoming high school season. Here's a look at some additional prospects who delivered standout performances during Saturday's action.    A point guard that has two way impact, Ilijah Adams was productive in the ways he was able to be a solid decision maker on the offensive end paired with his ability to be disruptive on the defensive end. A habitual paint toucher, Adams used his quickness off the dribble to get in the paint and flash his court vision with a number of sharp passes he made. Defensively, Adams was much of himself, pressuring the ball the length of the floor and turning opposing ball handlers over.     Often times excelling as a combo guard that is more than capable of being productive and efficient at both guard guard spots, Infinite Sincere excelled as not only a dangerous shot maker but also as a reliable additional ball handler. Possessing a smooth and compact release paired with a ton of confidence, Sincere displayed his shot making ability knocking down a number of catch and shoot threes and mid range pull up jumpers. Sincere also got the opportunity to showcase what he can do as a ball handler, showcasing his ability to initiate offense as well as flashes of his decision making on the ball.     A dead eye shooter from three point distance with a smooth release, [player_tooltip player_id='2305481' first='Jaylen' last='Lewis'] exhibited his versatility as a shooter— ultimately demonstrating an ability to shoot it just as well on the move as he does as a standstill shooter. The left handed combo guard also flashed some of his craftiness and creativity off the dribble with different decisions he made getting in the paint and creating for others as well as different finishes at the basket.     Setting the table for Seton Hall Prep's offense, [player_tooltip player_id='2201947' first='Anthony' last='Gonzalez'] demonstrated a strong ability to often times make decisive reads as a ball handler. Gonzalez got in the paint consistently off the bounce and displayed his potent feel for the game with a lot of the decisions that he made, creating advantageous scoring chances for his teammates.     A dangerous threat from three point range while also possessing the ability to be a reliable ball handler, [player_tooltip player_id='2884521' first='Bryce' last='McCray'] impressed with his ability to impact the game in a multitude of ways, both on and off the ball. Possessing good intangibles as a lethal perimeter shot maker, McCray excelled at consistently being shot ready off the ball and finding open space out on the perimeter. Spending moments at the point guard position and initiating offense for Seton Hall Prep, McCray made a number of good reads with the ball in his hands that highlighted his ability to be a decisive decision maker and facilitator of the basketball.     An interesting combination between size and skillset, [player_tooltip player_id='2107943' first='JP' last='Skoric'] impressed Saturday afternoon, flashing his overall offense. Skoric's ability to put the ball on the floor stood out immediately along side the nice touch he showed on his smooth mid range jumpers. Skoric also mixed a few finishes around the basket while also flashing his catch and shoot ability.     A versatile offensive weapon at the forward position, [player_tooltip player_id='1595675' first='Julius' last='Avent'] possesses good feel for the game paired with his size and that was on display during key moments for Bergen Catholic's offense Saturday afternoon. Avent exhibited his ability to not only score but also pass out of double teams and make plays for others out the low post. Avent also mixed in some palpable attacks at the basket. Avent also flashed his perimeter shooting down the stretch of their matchup against St. Peter's, hitting an in rhythm pick and pop three. Possessing a strong and physical frame, Avent was also extremely impactful on the glass, fighting well for position and coming down with a number of rebounds.     [player_tooltip player_id='2342638' first='Jaden' last='Brown'] delivered a standout performance Saturday afternoon that displayed both his versatile scoring prowess and decisive playmaking. Aggressive from the start and settling into a nice rhythm offensively, Brown got going from the perimeter with his lethal shot making ability both creating space off the bounce and as a standstill shooter. Brown also mixed in an array of strong finishes at the rim through contact and in between area floaters in the painted area. An interesting aspect of Brown's game has also been his low post scoring as a guard, flashing his ability to score down low, backing down smaller defenders in the low post. Operating as Bergen Catholic's primary ball handler, Brown also displayed his facilitation ability, creating a handful of clean scoring chances for his teammates.     A point guard that possesses the ability to keep the defense honest with the ball in his hands, [player_tooltip player_id='2421355' first='Kyle' last='Dixon'] displayed a combination of being a table setting floor general along side his ability to be a perimeter shot maker. Dixon made a number of high level reads— advancing the ball up the floor in transition to his teammates in stride while also making some impressive passes in PnR, ultimately displaying his ability to be a precise and on time facilitator. Dixon also mixed in some strong finishes at the rim as well when he was able to get into the teeth of the defense.     A versatile wing that plays with an insane motor that figures to be a solid connective piece for Bergen Catholic this winter, Bridge McMillan impressed with infectious energy that he played with and the different ways he found to impact the game on both ends of the floor. A switchable defender with versatile size, McMillan did a good job of pressuring the ball and rebounding the ball at a high level for his position. Offensively, McMillan displayed his ability to be an effective piece off the ball, excelling at knocking down open shots and moving well without the ball.
