Class 2A: Stars to Watch (Part 2)

Putman is one of the most versatile stat-sheet stuffing players in the state, putting up huge numbers as both a freshman and sophomore for the Beavers. Last season he averaged 23.6 points, 12.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 2.0 steals, and 3.2 blocks per game on 52% shooting. A tough, athletic wing who can play downhill and attack the rim or shoot over defenders in the mid-range, he does everything well and is primed to have a ridiculous junior year.     A dominant multi-sport athlete, Bingham averaged more than four times as many points as the next player on the roster for the Trojans last season, putting up 28.1 points, 8.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. He's a plus-athlete with the ability to score from all three levels, defend multiple positions, and control the glass on both ends of the floor.     An athletic wing with good size, Chance enjoyed a breakout sophomore year for the Blue Demons, putting up 19.1 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.5 steals per game on 58-38-61 shooting splits. His length and explosive athleticism allow him to impact the game on the defensive end, and he's a versatile scoring threat who can play with or without the ball in his hands.     Another standout performer for the Knights, Schon largely came off the bench as a sophomore to provide some serious scoring punch, putting up 13.6 points per game on 68% shooting. He's a great athlete who embraces contact and finishes through it at the bucket, he can also create quality looks off the dribble for his teammates.     A skilled wing with great size, Wegmann uses his 6-5 frame to shoot over defenders or take smaller defenders onto the block and score with great footwork and touch. He's a pure shooter who doesn't force anything, averaging 19.8 points on 48-45-74 shooting splits to go with 5.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 2.0 steals, and 1.9 blocks per game.     Wallace is one of two really athletic forwards for the Regals who can control the glass, protect the paint defensively, and finish efficiently around the rim. Also one of the top football prospects in the state's 2027 class, he's a tough, athletic, mobile big man who runs the floor hard and takes full advantage of his athleticism against overmatched opponents. He averaged 16.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.1 steals per game on 58% shooting.     The quarterback for a dominant Tri-Center football team, Harder is also the maestro on the hardwood, leading the Trojans in scoring (19.1), assists (5.0), and steals (3.8) as a sophomore. He's a quick, athletic guard who sees the floor well, handles it, and can finish through contact at the rim.     Van Donge was a breakout player as a freshman at the 2A state tournament in 2024, and followed that up with a really good sophomore campaign in which he averaged 12.1 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game on 55-35-56 shooting. He's a mobile big man with great footwork and touch around the rim, and he has also shown a bit of a face-up game, knocking down mid-range jumpers or attacking bigger defenders off the bounce.     Christiansen was one of the most productive freshmen in the state last season, averaging 15.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.3 steals per game on 46-42-88 shooting splits. He's a smooth guard who can create quality looks for himself and his teammates off the dribble, and he's an electric shooting threat with a quick release, unlimited range, and a ton of confidence.     Henry is a big-time scorer who put up 21.3 points per game as a junior for the Golden Hawks. He takes, and makes, a ton of 3s, with a lightning-quick release and great off-ball movement that allows him to get his shot off. He's also a quality secondary playmaker who can create looks for his teammates with the constant attention that needs to be paid to him because of his shooting prowess.
