The 2025 Prep Hoops Carolinas The Expo and Freshman Showcase are fast approaching! They will be held Saturday, September 6th, in Rock Hill, South Carolina, and are a great opportunity to compete against the best prospects in the Carolinas and earn exposure in front of Prep Hoops Scouts! Take a look at five players who we want to see at this year's Freshman Showcase:

[player_tooltip player_id='2853393' first='Babar' last='Johnson'] (Gray Collegiate) - First up on this list of names that we want at this year's Prep Hoops Carolinas Freshman Showcase is [player_tooltip player_id='2853393' first='Babar' last='Johnson']. He is already well-recognized as one of the top prospects in South Carolina's 2029 Class, but this event would give him the chance to stamp that in front of Prep Hoops. Babar already has a good feeling for scoring at all three levels and the physical tools to match.

[player_tooltip player_id='2419233' first='Kai' last='Lowery'] (Northwestern) - Lowery saw big minutes as an 8th Grader in 2024-25 and is a key part of Northwestern's bright future. Kai has the potential to be an elite shooter, but at the Prep Hoops Carolinas Freshman Showcase, he would also be able to display his handle, playmaking, and interior scoring.

[player_tooltip player_id='2948735' first='Kellen' last='Leverett'] (Brynes) - Despite only being a Freshman, there is a good chance that Kellen is one of the best backup Point Guards in the state this season. I got to see Leverette with Byrnes and with Upward Stars this Summer, and his ability to set up teammates, score the ball, and make defensive plays was clear, so I'm hoping to see that again at the Prep Hoops Carolinas Freshman Showcase.

[player_tooltip player_id='2948752' first='Malik' last='Woods'] (Lugoff-Elgin) - Woods is another young lead guard that we want at the Prep Hoops Carolinas Freshman Showcase. Malik plays the game with quickness and creativity, always surveying the opposing defense for lanes to penetrate or space to pull up off the dribble.

[player_tooltip player_id='2419229' first='Jovani' last='Spencer'] (Nation Ford) - Rounding out the group is Nation Ford's [player_tooltip player_id='2419229' first='Jovani' last='Spencer']. He is a physically gifted Wing who should be able to contribute with his size and athleticism. The Prep Hoops Carolinas Freshman Showcase would give Jovani the platform to showcase where the rest of his game is and cement him as a top 10 prospect in the state.
