High School Spotlight: University Trailblazers

The season is still a few months away, but it is never too early to look ahead at the high school season. We will be taking a look at some quick hitters, the top player(s), a potential breakout player, other roster members, and more for the upcoming season. He is 32-23 as University head coach.</li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ul> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:list --> <ul class="wp-block-list"><!-- wp:list-item --> <li>Could make a strong run at the Class 2A State Championship again. </li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ul> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Top Player:&nbsp;[player_tooltip player_id='1282878' first='Blake' last='Gray'] <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/jason-gardner-jr/"></a></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Traiblazers will be once again looking to make a run at a state finals at the Class 2A level. While they may have some pieces missing from a season ago, they bring back most of their production and this season, the guy that could step up and lead them is senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1282878' first='Blake' last='Gray']. Gray comes back as the leading scorer from a season ago bringing back 11.9 point per game as well as 2.5 assist as well. Gray has become more of an all-around scorer over the recent years and is still a big time threat from behind the arc. An under-the-radar player, Gray could be in for a big senior season for University. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Potential Breakout Player: [player_tooltip player_id='1560954' first='Josh' last='McGee']<a href="https://prephoops.com/player/justin-kirby/"></a></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>An under-the-radar player that we at Prep Hoops Indiana have started to buy a bunch of stock in is senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1560954' first='Josh' last='McGee']. Another player for University that could make a case as the leader of this team, McGee is a true combo guard with strong size on the ball with scoring and facilitating ability. McGee gets downhill in a hurry, is an excellent finisher around the rim with both hands, and displays a real athletic pop as a finisher.
