My annual Film Room series is back for another year! There were over 100 prospects who submitted High School, Grassroots, or Camp Highlights for review and all will be featured in an article on Prep Hoops. Check out my thoughts on the sixth group of 2027s and watch their film in the post from @AndrewBaxleySC on X (Twitter):

[player_tooltip player_id='2455148' first='Isaiah' last='Whitner'] (Marlboro County) - First up on the next list of 2027 Film Room is [player_tooltip player_id='2455148' first='Isaiah' last='Whitner']. Whitner is an intriguing wing who I've been impressed with inperson and on film this summer. He has a good combination of size and athleticism, which allows him to make plays at the rim on both ends. But Isaiah isn't just a slasher; he can also spot-up on the perimeter and threes or make plays with his handle on occasion.

[player_tooltip player_id='2470023' first='Elijah' last='McClain'] (Cheraw) - McClain had a nice Sophomore Season for the Braves in 2024-25, averaging 13.3 Points Per Game. However, as a Junior, he'll be expected to increase his production, and that is something he is more than capable of. Elijah will have the ball in his hands a lot because that is where he is at his best. He does a good job of making plays off the dribble with a good pull-up game and toughness at the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='2314646' first='Kayson' last='Dawson'] (Hartsville) - Kayson submitted his season-long highlight reel for review. Like McClain, he had a big role as a Sophomore, leading his team at 11.3 Points Per Game. The majority of Dawson's scoring comes at the rim or behind the arc. He is an aggressive driver who isn't afraid of contact in the paint, but can also throttle down with floaters above shot-blockers. Kayson's threes tend to come off the dribble, but he can also spot-up for looks.

[player_tooltip player_id='2469366' first='Carter' last='Jackson'] (Brookland-Cayce) - Next up on the list is [player_tooltip player_id='2469366' first='Carter' last='Jackson']. Jackson's film comes from the Crossroads Elite Invitational, one of the most prestigious prospect camps in the country. His #1 role was to move the ball and compete on defense, but he also added a nice scoring boost late in the possession. Carter hit a few contested mid-range and three-point shots, while also knocking down a few corner threes when the offense didn't go through him.

[player_tooltip player_id='2139480' first='Christopher' last='Horton'] (Ridge View) - Horton is another elite, Columbia-area Guard in this list and one that we are excited to see at the Prep Hoops Carolina Expo next weekend. He has worked hard to improve his ball-handling and passing ability, while also remaining as one of the premier perimeter shooters in his class. As he showed on his Peach Jam highlights, Christopher can now punish defenses that leave him open from three or ones that over-help and lose track of his teammates.

[player_tooltip player_id='2631311' first='Chase' last='Warren'] (Darlington) - Chase's film was a nice change-up from a lot of the other ones I've watched because of how engaged defensively and unselfish offensively he was. Warren frequently made plays on the defensive end by having active hands and working on the glass. He also made several unselfish passes on the perimeter and in transition to get his teammates a better look.

[player_tooltip player_id='2951681' first='Tradyn' last='Phillips'] (South Pointe) - Rounding out Part 6 is a new name to the Palmetto State, [player_tooltip player_id='2951681' first='Tradyn' last='Phillips']. Phillips made the short, cross-border transfer from Jackson Day to South Pointe this summer and could be a key figure for the Stallions this season. Tradyn's highlights displayed an impressive body of work defensively, where he displayed his length, activity, and instincts. Phillips also showed flashes of outside shooting, but becoming a true 3 & D wing could be his best path to the next level.
