My annual Film Room series is back for another year! There were over 100 prospects who submitted High School, Grassroots, or Camp Highlights for review and all will be featured in an article on Prep Hoops. Check out my thoughts on the first group of 2027s and watch their film in the post from @AndrewBaxleySC on X (Twitter):

[player_tooltip player_id='2630796' first='Jonah' last='McSwain'] (Gaffney) - [player_tooltip player_id='2630796' first='Jonah' last='McSwain'] leads off our first list of 2027s. He is an early candidate for one of the most improved players in the state as he looks to go from a role player to a crucial starter. This was on display at the SCBCA Live Event, where his submitted highlights came from. Jonah showed that he is an elite perimeter shooter who has deep range and moves well without the ball, but he also made a few nice passes, deflected passes, and drew charges.

[player_tooltip player_id='1489156' first='Rickey' last='Littlejohn III'] (Gaffney) - Next up is the second Gaffney Indian on this list and the man who makes up the other half of their stellar backcourt. There are few better in transition than Littlejohn, and despite his age, there are few players more experienced because he's been playing big minutes since his 8th Grade Season. Rickey has great speed with the ball, reads the floor well, and is a more-than-capable scorer off the dribble.

[player_tooltip player_id='1960139' first='Ethan' last='Foster'] (Bluffton) - Foster posted a short mixtape from a recent live period for review. Ethan is a slashing Wing who likes to cut to the rim and use his positional size to finish at the rim. He can do so in transition or in the half-court, and often shows a good feel for that spacing. However, one thing I would like to see more of in his highlights would be his shooting ability, as that is a crucial aspect to his potential as a prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='2615504' first='Will' last='Jeffcoat'] (Marlboro County) - Will is a Guard who posted some film for us to evaluate and a guy who we are excited to see live at the Prep Hoops Carolinas Expo. He can play either position in the backcourt with his good handle, vision, mid-range game, and spot-up shooting ability. Jeffcoat is a very good driver, but if he adds a few pounds of muscle, it could help take his finishing package to the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='2384915' first='Ariel' last='Huell'] (Westwood) - Huell will be a new addition to the Prep Hoops South Carolina 2027 Rankings next month. He has shown very good signs of development over the last 6 months, including what I could see from him on his Sophomore Season film. Two things really stood out from that film: his desire to run the floor and protect the rim. Ariel did both these things consistently, and that type of effort is what will earn him minutes for the Redhawks this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125308' first='Beau' last='Brannon'] (Wren) - Beau is no stranger to our Film Room Series here at Prep Hoops. This is when I first learned the name two years ago, and seeing his highlights now, it's clear to see the jump he's made. Brannon's length and bounce jump off the page, but he is a tough finisher inside and makes his presence felt defensively. Once Beau translates his efficient shooting to a higher volume and improves his playmaking to balance it, his college stock will begin to soar.

[player_tooltip player_id='2130006' first='William' last='Street'] (Riverside) - Rounding out the list is another NLE 2027 Wing, [player_tooltip player_id='2130006' first='William' last='Street']. He was a very complimentary piece to this team this year because he could provide shooting and spacing to their second unit. Street is a very good catch-and-shoot option, but rarely forces shots and makes the right pass from the perimeter. He is also effective on movement shots from BLOB actions.
