Mosinee -- After finishing 18-8 last winter, Mosinee welcomes back a pair of first-team all-Great Northern Conference performers in Reinke and Stoffel. Sebastian Andersen (6-4) and [player_tooltip player_id='2714970' first='Carson' last='Balgord'] (6-0) joined Reinke and Stoffel in the Indians' starting rotation and that gifted foursome gives Mosinee one of the more experienced clubs in the sectional.

2. Osceola -- Osceola won the Middle Border Conference title by two games over runner-up Prescott a year ago and welcomes back two of the better players in the eight-team loop in Irbeck and Bradway. Both averaged just over 17.0 ppg as juniors. Senior guard Waylan Cole (6-1) is another key returning player for coach Tyler Olson.

3. Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau -- The Red Hawks look to end West Salem's domination in the Coulee Conference behind an experienced squad led by Brone, a four-year varsity performer who can play either guard spot and is dynamite with the ball in his hands. Look for senior [player_tooltip player_id='2432831' first='Travis' last='Theisen'] (6-7) to have a big season for G-E-T in addition to Brone.

4. Northwestern -- A perennial power in the Heart O'North Conference, the Tigers tied Cumberland for the league crown last season and welcomes back one of the top players in northern Wisconsin in Kroll, a dynamic junior wing who can score in many different ways. Coach Nolan Graff also returns junior Tyson Teal (5-11) and senior Ethan Harms (6-3).

5. Prescott -- Russell is a three-year starter for the Cardinals and one of the better athletes in the state. The North Dakota State football recruit led the team in scoring in 2024-25 while junior [player_tooltip player_id='2809649' first='Emmett' last='Otto'] (6-1) and senior [player_tooltip player_id='2500056' first='Max' last='Monteith'] (6-2) also return for coach Nick Johnson.

Sleeper Team

Elk Mound -- The Mounders make the switch from the Dunn-St. Croix to the Western Cloverbelt with a solid team more than capable of posting regional and sectional victories this winter. Senior post player [player_tooltip player_id='2895382' first='Victor' last='Noller'] (6-5) is the top returning player for the Mounders. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2418811' first='Zeb' last='Robinson'] (6-0) flashed a lot of potential playing varsity minutes as a freshman.
