Crozier Summer League: Top Performers

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Crozier Summer League came and went this past weekend and didn't disappoint. The annual event featured teams from New Castle County, DE, as well as from outside of the state. It ended with the Howard Wildcats winning the chip, in addition to a number of athletes who showcased their abilities. Here are the top guys:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2352456' first='Nick' last='Baysah'] | 5'10 G 2026 Howard </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Baysah showed off his patented handle and pocket passes, but it was his scoring that made the difference on their way to the title. He got to various spots in the paint, playing off two feet or posting up weaker guards. That allowed him to get to fade away jumpers and finishes through contact. Lastly, Baysah confidently pulled from three, which made him an even more dynamic scoring threat for the Wildcats. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2485359' first='Colton' last='Hiller'] | 6'6 W 2028 Coatesville </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The unanimous five star did a lot of everything for the Red Raiders. Extremely effective as a driver, Hiller powered his way to the rim and finished above it. His play without the ball was just as impactful. The big wing disrupted the opposing offense with deflections and crashed the boards for second-chance points. Hiller got threes off as well, but he didn't really need to for the team to win. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2566663' first='Muadh' last='Johnson'] | 6'6 C 2026 William Penn </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As the man in the middle for the Colonials, Johnson was a wrecking crew around the basket. He protected the paint almost single-handedly, meeting drivers at the rim and blocking shots. Offensively, Johnson grabbed one offensive rebound after another to extend possessions. And on one play, he rolled hard to the rim and caught a body that almost shut down the gym. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2534590' first='Shawn' last='Neurell'] | 6'4 F 2027 Concord</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Neurell wore a lot of hats for the Raiders and did well on each one. At times he was their primary ball-handler, bringing the ball up against pressure and setting teammates up to score. But it was his contribution in the paint that put the team over the hump. The point forward cleaned the glass for putbacks, cut to the basket for tough lay ups, and altered shots on the other end to lead the Raiders to victory. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2442708' first='King' last='Savior'] | 6'7 W 2027 Middletown </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The lanky late-bloomer flashed as a shotmaker, but his willingness to play big was a bigger deal. Despite being slight-of-frame, Savior mixed it up inside, pulling down offensive and defensive boards, some of which he took coast-to-coast for two points. In the halfcourt, he attacked off-the-catch and posted up for high percentage looks. Further, rejected other people's shots at the rim when they challenged him on drives. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
