Nuerell was a bruiser around the basket for the Raiders; but, more than that, he was a well-rounded hooper. Opposing players struggled to score through his chest because of his strength. Relatedly, any miss off the glass was inevitably his as he protected the rim on defense and created second-chance opportunities on offense. With the ball on the low block, Nuerell made quick work of smaller defenders and, at the high post, he hit mid-range jumpers with ease. The latter spot was also where he occasionally diced up defenses as a playmaker.

With his inside-outside games, Neurell runs his team’s offense, while at other times lets the offense run through him. He brings the ball up if need be and initiates the offense. And he’s especially potent when he’s at high post. From there, Neurell generates advantages which he uses to get others involved or get a bucket – middy or lay. Despite being so skilled, Neurell isn’t afraid to throw his weight around to clean the glass to play with his back to the basket.
