Expert Analysis
Robbie Hodin | Prep Hoops Scout
Jones shot the **** out of the ball on Saturday. The 6-foot guard was getting consistently hounded by Middlesex Magic UAA’s stifling defensive pressure, but he still moves well without the ball and got his shot off in a bunch of different circumstances. He has a beautiful release and can get hot from three quickly, but he’ll also drive closeouts and get to his spots in the mid-range for floaters, fade-aways, or pull-ups. Jones is an under control player who will make a college coach happy.

The new-look Vikings always had enough firepower when Jones was on the floor. Despite not getting many varsity minutes during his sophomore year, he earned all-league honors and helped lift his team to the second round of the tournament. Jones was good for 2 to 3 triples every game and delivered huge shots in the clutch. As soon as he crossed halfcourt, the junior sniper was in-range for standstill and/or movement threes. Hard closeouts didn’t work either, because Jones could counter with a quick step in any direction for a pull-up.
