Crossroads Elite Invitational: Sunday's Top 80 From Kansas

On Sunday, the top 80 players hit the court at the Crossroads Elite Invitational, including five standout athletes from Kansas who seized the opportunity to gain valuable experience.    On Sunday, Colton led his Team Garland squad in a matchup against Team Miller, making an immediate impact. He set the tone by winning the opening tip and delivering a pinpoint transition pass for a quick score. His on-ball defense was on display all game, consistently shutting down drives and generating fast-break opportunities -- capped by an emphatic two-handed dunk of his own. In the half-court, Colton's vision fueled great ball movement and even set up several hockey assists. He also showed poise attacking closeouts and finishing strong at the rim.     Jacob, a key contributor for Team Miller, played an important role in helping his team finish Sunday undefeated and crowned as champions. McCullough built on an already strong weekend by embracing his role and growing more confident with each game. His communication stood out on both ends of the floor, and he consistently showed a knack for being around the ball. He didn't shy away from contact, actively pursuing rebounds on both ends, and demonstrated his versatility as a screener -- effectively rolling to the rim and popping out to the perimeter.     Teke also played for Team Garland during Sunday's session, showing his ability to contribute alongside a group of high-level guards. Deng picked his spots on offense, thriving as a screener and consistently drawing weak-side attention as a roll threat, which opened up clean looks for teammates on the perimeter. He was active on the glass at both ends, securing defensive rebounds to finish possessions and chasing down offensive boards to create second-chance opportunities.     Nash competed for Team Chet on Sunday, helping lead his squad to a run into the championship game. Ferguson showed his adaptability by stepping into a different role than usual, spending more time operating inside -- especially on the defensive end. He held his ground against bigger, stronger opponents, often forcing them off the lane and away from their preferred spots. Nash continued to make his presence felt as a rim protector, consistently blocking and altering shots -- arguably his most impactful skill at this stage.     Dzabatou and Team Porter competed in two tightly contested games on Sunday, coming away with one win and one loss. Ben stood out defensively, particularly in pick-and-roll situations, where he effectively hedged and dropped to buy time for guards to recover. His length caused problems around the rim, consistently contesting and altering shots. He also remained active on the glass at both ends, using a solid base and good instincts to track the ball off the rim and secure rebounds.
