About Gallagher
Expert Analysis
Jay Frye | Prep Hoops Scout
Placide is one of the most complete two-way forwards in the class, combining size, skill, and defensive versatility. At 6’11”, he has legitimate frontcourt length but also shows perimeter ability, including handling and decision-making. He can initiate offense in secondary actions while still anchoring the paint defensively. His ability to switch and guard multiple positions gives him immediate value in modern defensive schemes. Wake Forest is getting a high-upside forward with real positional flexibility.
✅ Two-way versatility
✅ Ball-handling at size
✅ Defensive switchability

High-level switch defender who is unfazed when defending guards, wings, or collapsing down into the post. His knack to contain dribble penetration, recover, and handle multiple matchups often makes him a nightmare cover in pick-and-roll actions.

Gallagher mirrors his twin brother’s size and upside at 6’11”, but his game carries its own identity. He’s highly effective in the post, using touch and footwork to create scoring chances, and his mobility makes him dangerous when attacking from the high post. Defensively, he controls space with his length, protecting the rim and providing reliable weak-side help. His ability to rebound on both ends keeps possessions alive and limits second-chance opportunities for opponents. Gallagher’s combination of size, skill, and defensive presence makes him an anchor for Faith Family.
✅ Skilled interior scorer
✅ Weak-side rim protection
✅ Strong rebounder on both ends

#5 ranked in the state of Kansas, and is a point-forward like his brother, Gavin, both @ Sunrise Christian Academy. He can seamlessly transition and play inside or out with the appropriate amount of physicality needed, combined with solid ball skills. He is comfortable playing point and then crashing the boards for his own rebound and powering through with dunks on contact. Gallagher also doesn’t seem to do things just for show; he relies on effectiveness on both sides of the court. His game reminds me of a young Anthony Mason, actually, but with a little less physicality and a little more athleticism and height.

At 6’8”, Gallagher is a dominant interior force who can’t be denied. His strength and physicality make him a problem for opponents on both ends of the floor. In the paint, he uses his size to score efficiently, control the boards, and protect the rim. Defenders struggle to contain him as he overpowers matchups and finishes through contact. On defense, his presence alters shots and disrupts offensive flow, making him a key anchor in the paint.

Placide is moving up in the rankings based on that skill work that he is putting in. While a lot of players in his calss have started to reach a peak he has yet to hit the ceiling and that bods well for his recruiting.
