On July 5th I attended the Attitude of Gratitude Summer Tip-Off located at the phhacility in Phx.

I watched over 10 teams play from 10:00am-6:00pm with 17 and 16U teams.

Here were some of the 2027-28 Standouts Part-2

[player_tooltip player_id='1873639' first='Grant' last='Mattingly'] Central (AZ Select 16 UAA) (Pictured)

The pure point guard handles most of the heavy ball pressure and then will dime a teammate. His pace he plays at combined with him changing speeds makes him hard to defend and keep in front of you. He made every big play down the stretch in one of their wins and if he gets a small step on you, he will finish it off at the rim with and-1's.

[player_tooltip player_id='2146267' first='Micah' last='Andrews'] Deer Valley (Peak National 16 UAA Rise)

A pure point guard is a top end defender. He will score with threes off the catch or off the dribble. The ball is on a string for him and can crossover his opponent. He is easily one of the top on-ball defenders in the class and picks a bunch of pockets. He also made some of the best passes on the day.

[player_tooltip player_id='2107084' first='Adam' last='Medina'] Gilbert (Peak National 16 UAA Rise)

An active power forward has plus post footwork inside the paint. He can use a couple counter moves and then score or get to the free throw line or fall away from his defender. He rebounds well in his area and keeps possessions alive.

[player_tooltip player_id='2143671' first='Ashton' last='Musser'] St. Mary's (AZ Select 16 UAA)

The man in the middle seems to rebound everything in his area with his strong two hands. He can work inside the paint with patience and advanced post footwork and then step out and shoot the three. He keeps the ball high and will go up to score.

[player_tooltip player_id='1986833' first='Noah' last='Mckinney'] Pusch Ridge (O3 Elite 17U)

A scoring guard/wing cuts off the ball, dribble drive into traffic and creates his own offense off the dribble or will step thru to score. He will hit the three off the catch and pull-up from mid-range. He is a very good rebounder for his size.

[player_tooltip player_id='2442095' first='Chase' last='Acord'] Centennial (AZ Select James 17)

A wing forward with a little size scores it inside with put backs and runners. He will dribble drive and use the floater game. He rebounds well in his area with a stronger upper body and he can shoot it from mid to the three point line.
