<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Class of 2027 standout [player_tooltip player_id='2334870' first='Scottie' last='Adkinson'] of Webster Groves has given a commitment to stay in-state and attend the University of Missouri.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A 6'3" guard, Adkinson was the Gatorade Player of the Year in the state after leading Webster Groves to the Class 5 state championship. He was also the Prep Hoops Missouri Class 5 Player of the Year and the No. 1 ranked player in the Class of 2027.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Mizzou head coach Dennis Gates made Adkinson a top priority in his recruiting and he was able to get an early commitment. Adkinson made his announcement on his social media account on Tuesday afternoon.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As a sophomore, Adkinson averaged 24.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.19 steals while shooting 42 percent from 3-point range with 58 made triples. He had some huge performances during the season including a 43-point outburst against Class 6 state-runner up Chaminade in February. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In the Final Four of the state tournament, Adkinson scored 30 points in the state semifinals against Westminster and 29 points in the state championship game against Summit Christian. He led the Statesmen to a 27-5 record.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Adkinson is playing for the MoKan Elite 16U squad in the Nike EYBL during the summer grassroots season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
