National Open Championship: Game Changers 15U

Whether it was coming off the bench, going on scoring streaks or making all the winning plays. These players made instant impacts on their teams.    Ryan is a tough minded guard who goes at his opponents. He stays in “attack mode” throughout the game and plays with no fear. Ryan is an excellent ball handler. He easily breaks down opposing players and attacks the paint. Offensively, his shot of choice was a mid-range jumper fading away from the defense. Whenever he used the dribble to beat his opponent, Ryan created just enough space to knock down a high percentage of his shots. He's a flashy passer and play-maker. Most of his passes led to easy scores for his teammates. Whether it was a bounce or no-look pass, Ryan was always on the money. Whenever the opportunity was there to make threes, he showed the ability to do so. He finished the game with three of them. Ryan is a great combo guard who has the capability of being successful at point or shooting guard.     Cam is a shooter! He's the type of player who catches fire once he sees a shot go down. In the game against Davis Brothers 2028, there was a sequence in the game where he knocked down two consecutive threes. Until that point in the game, Cam was quiet offensively. Those consecutive baskets jump-started his scoring. From that point on, he attacked the basket and used teammate screens to get open along the perimeter. Whenever team Multiplier had scoring opportunities in transition, Cam proved to be a strong finisher. On defense, Cam was physical towards opposing guards attempting to get around him. He forced a number of turnovers with excellent on-ball pressure. A great scorer who will excel during the high school basketball season.     JJ was a beast on the boards! He led Legacy Ice Boost in rebounding. I feel confident in saying “he finished the game with eight to ten.” Not only could JJ rebound, he also scored. During the game he surprised me with his ball handling skills. On some occasions, he brought the ball up-court and initiated the Legacy Boost offense. In some instances, JJ dished out assists. Most of his passes led to timely scores by his teammates. In one-on-one match-ups he beat defenders off the dribble, attacked the paint and scored in the post. Some of his baskets were scored through contact, which led to three-point play opportunities from the foul-line. JJ showed the ability to score in transition by running the court and finishing strong. On defense, he blocked a couple of shots and protected the paint from opposing players. JJ has the talent to play a vital role in his high school team's success this fall.     DJ was "instant offense" off the bench! Whenever the Davis Brothers 2028 squad needed a basket, DJ was there to knock it down. He's a major three-point threat for his team. I watched him convert three of them in the match-up versus Multiplier 15U. DJ showed the ability to be a scoring threat from everywhere on the court. He showed a knack for beating opponents off the dribble. Whenever he got into the lane, he either scored or dished off assists to teammates near the basket. Some of those scores came off high arching shots over defenders protecting the paint. If there was an opportunity to score, DJ was always on the attack. On defense, he was great at taking charges, hitting the floor for loose balls and doing all the hustle plays needed to help Davis Brothers 2028 win games. After watching DJ play, I view this young man as a winner! He's a good hard-working player with a great future ahead of him.     Jaxson was one of the best all around players on his team. He's an excellent ball handler who easily beat defenders to the basket. On most occasions, Jaxson was able to win his one-on-one match-ups. Whether it was scoring in the paint, converting a mid-range pull ups or finishing in transition, he always found a way to be an offensive threat at all times. Whenever the opportunity was there to take a three, Jaxson did not hesitate to knock it down. He finished the game with four. Jaxson showed his toughness when he attacked the glass and battled for rebounds, despite being shorter than the opposition. It was all about who wanted it more! Jaxson plays the game like he wants to succeed on both sides of the court. Defensively, his constant poking and timing allowed him to play the passing lanes and generate turnovers. Jaxson is a great player who will cause havoc as he continues to grow and mature.      Ty'Eir continues to be “instant offense” whenever he's on the court. He's a shifty guard who easily wins his one-on-one match-ups on the perimeter. Ty'Eir made an immediate impact when he stepped off the bench. He scored on three straight possessions by attacking the basket and knocking down three-pointers. Ty'Eir has the confidence of a player with a true scorers mentality. He keeps the pressure on opposing defenders who have the task of stopping him. Ty'Eir excels at drawing fouls and getting to the free-throw line. He has a knack for beating defenders off the dribble and scoring floaters in the paint. Defensively, he used his quick hands to force opposing guards into mistakes. Ty'Eir had multiple steals by timing passes in the pass lanes. These turnovers led to easy transition scores for his teammates. I expect Ty'Eir to have a successful Varsity season as one of North Central's best young players.        Jordan is an impressive basketball player. He dominated inside the paint. Whenever he had a smaller defender guarding him, Jordan quickly took advantage of the situation. Opposing post players had no answers for him defensively. In some instances, he scored through contact which led to three-point play opportunities. Jordan is a great rebounder! He finished the game with a double-double in points and boards. If there was an opportunity to score in transition, Jordan showed his athleticism by running the floor and finishing strong. He has a nice shooting touch from mid-range. Most of his scores came from short pull-ups on the wing. Jordan can also extend his range beyond three-point line. During the match up against Davis Brothers 2028, he was a scoring threat from every area of the court. On defense he protected the paint and blocked a couple of shots. Jordan is a great young talent who has a productive season ahead of him.     Tristan is a tough guard who plays with a composed attitude. He's a great “floor leader” who always looked to find teammates for high percentage shots. Most of his assists led to positive outcomes for Indiana Basketball Club 2028. Tristan was fully immersed in his job as a play-maker. He led his team in assists and showed great leadership skills by being vocal with other Indiana Basketball Club players. Do not be fooled by his skills as a passer and floor general, Tristan this can score too! He showed the ability to beat opponents off the dribble and get to the rim. Tristan is a high percentage shooter from mid-range. Most of the jump-shots he took, went through the bottom of the net. Whenever he had an open look behind the arc, he did not hesitate to knock it down. Tristan is a pass first point-guard who has the skills to score whenever he needs to.
