Cali-Live: 2026 Prospects Who Helped Themselves

June 27-29 Cali-Live. The top high school event in California, in June for boys basketball. It's the live period college coaches are sitting court side at Ladera Sports Complex, and San Juan High School. Northern California had approximately 40 teams make the trip down South. PH NorCal was there. Here are some of the 2026 prospects who played well while we were watching.    The sharp shooter with range helped put the Bulldogs in the Championship game with his 3-point shooting. He has deep range, and confidence in his shot. His overall play is on the upswing with improved ball handling, and a willingness to attack the rim. He's using length to finish at the rim, change shots, and help rebound.     A muscular prospect whose confidence has grown as a shooting guard. He's comfortable, with a good release setting up along the perimeter for 3's with his new team California. He dropped 3 in the winning title game, finished with 19pts. He's a solid guard prospect with improved ball handling, he's a hard driver who can handle contact, he gets good lift on paint and mid-range jumpers, he'll rebound, and defend.     The calm and steady point guard just gets things done at the top. A quality ball handler, you can't speed up, he handles pressure, and the double team. He'll attack defenders if they over play his calmness. He works to involve others with vision and good passing. He can weave his way in for layups high off the glass. He'll drop a 3.     Cotton is off to a good start in June. He's always been a prospect who can generate a bucket. He has different ways of getting his shot off around the basket in traffic. With ball in hand, and rhythm he's difficult to stay in front of with his ability to make moves on his way into the paint for points and assists. His improved ball movement, and decision making adds balance to his game. He can knock down the 3-point shot in rhythm.     The experienced play making guard with superb ball handling was aggressively attacking the basket all weekend from different angles, getting points, and making the pass. He was in constant motion, playing at a fast pace, pushing and looking in transition, finding shooters, pulling up for mid-ranges, he dropped a couple of transition 3's as well. He hounded ball handlers, played hard on both side of the ball.     He has point guard qualities. Good size, ball handling up top, vision and passing. He showed a versatile style of play at this event. He did well working off ball, staying aggressive, and productive on both ends. He used his strength, and toughness to get paint points, and rebounds. He's a good perimeter ball mover, can drive for the mid-range jumpers, he has 3-point range.     Standing 6'7 Wright has a strong thick body, with a chip on his shoulder. When locked in he's one of the better power forward prospects in NorCal. He had good movement, and post presence trolling the paint on defense. He has sneaky hops going after blocks, and rebounds. He can be a target in the post, he has power to go up high and strong off two feet to finish. He'll throw it down with two hands on balance.     He's a big body Center with a deliberate style of play. He has improving foot work and body movement in the post. He has some physical presence on the defensive side of the ball. He powers up off two feet, gathers himself, keeps the ball up high. He's a go to in the paint but, will have to convert his opportunities. He'll get rebounds, make good passes, set solid screens. He can be a double double at the high school level.     A wing type prospect, who can defend multiple positions. He has length, and movement. He's in help position, using his length to get out and distract shooters. He'll work across the lane for the paint jumper, and around the perimeter moving the ball, cutting and setting himself for a catch and shoot 3-pointer.     A well built forward who continues to add pieces to his overall game. He'll be a key piece for this team. He gives good effort going after offensive rebounds for put back points. He has an improving skill set that allows him to use his dribble to attack the rim along the baseline, he hit short corner jumpers.     He's a tough minded competitor standing 6'4. He's often tasked with defending bigger players in the post area. He has strength, lower body uses his body for leverage, he doesn't let them pin him down too low on block. He doesn't mind mixing up, and banging for rebounds. He has good hustle rebounding, and running the court. He'll use one or two hard dribbles, or a paint jumper with balance to finish strong and around the rim.
