Cali-Live 2026 Eye Catchers

40 NorCal teams were at Cali-Live on June 27-29 at Ladera Sports Complex. Here are the prospects who caught our eye while we were watching.    Carter is a fast, quick twitch point guard. He handles ball pressure using his speed to split or go by defenders. He's always looking to attack the paint from different angles, for assist, or get the bucket himself. He's a tough minded guard who'll challenge you to block his shot, he handles contact. He's a good on ball defender using his speed to disrupt at times. He'll get a steal.     He plays a good all around game with improving guard skills. He'll use his dribble for hard drives to the basket. He has the body to handle the hits going to the rim, he pulled up for free throw jumpers. He works his way around the perimeter, moving and cutting, he's a ball mover. He's shot ready for 3ptrs. We've seen him rebound, and push the ball up in transition.     He's raised his level of play since the last time we saw him. He's a more controlled player letting the game come to him. He shot the ball well at this event. He knocked down multiple 3's in the flow of the offense, had rhythm 3's coming down in transition, he spotted up with range for 3's along the the perimeter. He's has a solid body with handles to drive it into the paint.     He's been a solid and consistent point guard from the Sacramento Area for a while. He's a quality ball handler, doesn't get sped up, he handles ball pressure, traps, he sees the whole court to make the pass up court. He settles the offense, makes good use of his body driving into the paint. He'll finish with floaters, paint jumpers, or high off the glass over defenders.     He's coming into his own as an experienced Senior guard. He's good in transition using his speed to fill lanes for buckets. He'll rebound, push the ball up in transition. He's using long strides from the perimeter, a couple dribbles for mid-range jumpers, he'll take it all the way to the rim. He's got some length and foot speed to be a good on ball defender. He jumps pretty well to help rebound     An undersized post player for this team. He doesn't stuff the stat sheet, but always find a way to contribute. He give effort defending bigger players in the post, boxes out for rebounds. He'll make the right pass to cutters, find shooters. He can get his shot off in the paint over taller players. He'll hit the paint jumper. He's consistent for what he does on the court.     The short times we watched, he made plays on both ends of the court. One was a game winning chase down block at the buzzer. He's a versatile prospect. He ran point, beat defenders off the dribble, he made timely cuts for points going to the basket. He goes up high and strong around the rim. At 6'2 he's a good rebounding guard. He's a riser.     He's an improving prospect as he continues to raise his level of play against good competition. He has foot speed, applies ball pressure. He's fast getting up court for transition layups. He spent time up top setting the offense, making good passes. He works mostly off ball making the extra pass, and cutting to the basket, he'll finish. He has speed, solid handles, he'll make a move to get by defenders.
