-McDuffie struggled shooting from the floor but made sure to impact the game in other ways throughout the last matchup of the weekend. He crashed the glass at both ends of the floor and did a great job of kicking out to his shooters on the wings after grabbing offensive boards. He also answered the bell defensively by guarding 1-5 on PSB, using his length to bother shooters on the perimeter and his size to push bigs off the low block. Thought he made good decisions in transition and showed an understanding of when to bring the ball out or push for a bucket.

-Thought that Herman created well off the bounce, getting to his pull-up in transition or in the halfcourt pretty well. He showed nice wiggle on the bounce and is a good passer that sees the floor well- highlighted by a nice assist over the top of the defense in a short roll ball screen. Herman knows where the ball is coming off the rim and earns trips to the FT line by snagging rebounds out of his area, has a nice finishing bag with either hand around the rim. Loved the way that he switched up the pace that he played with on his way to the rim—especially in transition— to throw off his defender's timing before raising up for a jumper. Showed great touch from 18 feet and in vs a slew of different defenders for [program_tooltip program_id='2076995' first='Team' last='Choo'].

-Came off the bench to give his team a totally different dynamic as a lightning-quick guard that hit shots to bring his team back. Really liked how Denton fit into his role as a guard that can space the floor as a shooter (two big 3s in the 2H) or play on the ball as a dynamic driving guard with a quick first step. Denton timed a defensive dig on the ball very well to swoop in for a steal and layup that pulled his team to within two baskets and later in the 2H raced back in transition to block a shot to save a layup. Interested to see if he can carve out a bigger role for a South River team shooting for its second Anne Arundel County title before a talented 2026 class moves onto college.

-Thought that Walker did a great job of showing that he can space the floor as a perimeter shooter this week without gunning too many shots. Walker, already a dynamic scoring guard that uses a deceptive change of space to get to his spots in the halfcourt, took the right shots while remaining aggressive in his trips to the rim and by extension- to the free throw line. Love how he is activated and motivated by the trash talk but responds by fighting for efficient looks on the offensive end and ramping up the ball pressure on the defensive end. His stop n pop jumper from the midrange is absolute money and he's great at contorting his body around the rim to score over bigger/more athletic defenders. Should be one of if not the best players in PG County Public this year.

-Plays with such an effortless change of speed at both ends of the floor. Yates has great back foot acceleration and understands how to manipulate his defender by switching up his dribble cadence or the height of his dribble to lull them to sleep before exploding to the rim. He had the midrange pull-up working nicely but also showed off an expanded bag of finishing moves around the rim. His speed in the open court with the ball in his hands made him really difficult to stay in front of, and he made good decisions with the basketball in the open court. Should be a PG that D2s are circling at the top of their recruiting lists.

-Really have come away impressed with Williams' defensive ability every time that I've seen him play this summer both with his AAU and HS teams. Williams uses his speed and quickness to ride his opponent's hip without fouling and he traces the ball exceptionally well with his hands. He gets off the ground quickly for blocks and contests but has the discipline to not jump for head fakes in order to force his matchup into turning the ball over or taking a bad shot on their own. Williams is also really dynamic in transition both on the ball or off as a guard that uses his speed to race it to the other end as quickly as possible before hunting for the best shot for his team. Love the balance on his pull-up jumper but Williams also has the feel/requisite ball-handling to duck under a closeout and get to the rim if the lane is there.
