All-Academic Camp Standouts III

Today, we'll wrap up our coverage of the All-Academic Camp with a look at the last set of standouts from the event.   To recap, All-Academic featured over 400 prospects from across the United States that looked to catch the eyes of coaches from some of the most prestigious academic institutions in the country.   Below are my final five standouts from the event.    Chartier, a floor spacing hybrid forward out of Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire, showed out with his ability to knock down shots from behind the arc and attack bad closeouts as a rim finisher. Continuing a month-long heater from behind the arc, he showed a good understanding of how to get open off the ball and a budding ability to use a quick first step to get to the rim as a scorer. At 6'6" with long arms and a lean frame, he has some nice tools on the defensive end of the floor that allow him to guard multiple positions and make plays in passing lanes that lead to transition opportunities.     Bewley, an athletic and long forward out of Lake Worth in Florida, proved to be one of the top defenders at the event, impacting games with his shot blocking, instincts in passing lanes, and motor on the glass. At 6'6", he impressed with his activity level on the defensive end. Offensively, he showed the ability to score out of isolation situations, with range out to the three point line. He runs the floor hard in transition, uses his length as a finisher around the rim, and has the ability to make tough shots in the mid-range. Overall, his versatility made him one of the more impressive two-way prospects at the event.     Alexander, a skilled hybrid forward out of St. Francis in California, made the most of his time on the east coast, proving to be one of the top prospects in attendance with his two-way versatility and ability to play on or off the ball offensively. Offensively, the 6'7" forward had an ability to do a bit of everything. He showed that he could make good decisions with the ball in his score, finished above the rim in space, and had a smooth stroke on his jumper from behind the three point line. He's a grab and go rebounder, defends up and down a position, and has a nose for the ball on the defensive glass.     Mitchell, a big, playmaking guard out of Tocoi Creek in Florida, impressed with his on-ball decision making and ability to score in a variety of ways around the rim. He has great positional size, plus length, and the ability to make plays off the bounce that lead to scoring opportunities. With his size, he's able to see over the defense as a passer, can score over size in the paint, and knocked down a few catch and shoot threes. He's a good decision maker, doesn't cause the ball to stick, and covers ground quickly with long strides. Defensively, he uses his length to make plays in passing lanes and moves well enough laterally to guard any spot on the perimeter.     Williams, a big, two-way wing out of Palatine in Illinois, made an impact on both ends of the floor with his motor, length, and quick twitch athleticism. He plays with great energy on the defensive end of the floor, using his physical tools to make plays in passing lanes, rebound in traffic, and keep opposing ball-handlers out of the paint. Offensively, he's hard to guard in transition as he uses his strength to his advantage when getting downhill. He's a quick second jumper that has a nose for the ball on the offensive glass and plays with the physicality needed to finish through contact around the rim.
