There are a lot of great basketball venues, especially in the state of Indiana, but it is really hard to beat the Rock Hill Sports and Event Center. Prep Hoops Indiana had boots on the ground at the beautiful venue on Wednesday, as we will through Sunday, taking in the action at the annual 3SSB Palmetto Road Championship in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Let's dive on in and highlight six of Indiana's under-the-radar standouts from Wednesday's action.

This rising sophomore at Brownsburg High School has very impressive athletic and physical tools for his age. Diallo is 6'4"-6'5" with plus length and fluid athleticism. He does a great job on the glass, uses his length to be disruptive defensively, and really impressed us with his communication on Wednesday. Additionally, Diallo is a capable catch-and-shoot threat from the perimeter while really shining as a right hand driver and slasher where his size and athleticism can take over. He was a big part of [program_tooltip program_id='2400000' first='Indiana' last='Elite Team Indiana'] 15u's win on Wednesday morning.

In a late night contest on Wednesday evening out at nearby York High School, Indiana Select 17u fell to Jamal Shead Elite 17u. Admittedly, we were not in attendance for this matchup but our friends over at LGHoops provided some statistics indicating that this Evansville Bosse High School rising senior guard went off for 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists in the loss. Harris had a strong month of June and is certainly someone that college programs should be watching through July. He is a very talented playmaker offensively.

While his teammates shot it from beyond the arc and led the way in the scoring column in [program_tooltip program_id='2400093' first='Indiana' last='Elite Team Tradition'] 16u's impressive Wednesday morning victory over One Time Legends 16u, it was Hegwood who was setting the table throughout the game. His ball handling and passing ability was key for operating against the on-ball pressure, length, and athleticism that they went up against. Hegwood, a rising junior at Roncalli High School, finished with 6 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists in the win.

Horvath is back on the AAU circuit and still filling it up with [program_tooltip program_id='2076924' first='EG10' last=''] 17u now that he has reclassified to the Class of 2026. He remains a very talented scorer out of the backcourt with perimeter shot-making ability and enough athleticism to be effective attacking the basket as well. It will be interesting to follow his recruitment over the next year and see where he ultimately ends up. He was a highly sought after small college prospect in Indiana before leaving Park Tudor and deciding to reclassify.

For a smaller guard, Macon is absolutely unafraid of taking it right at larger defenders. He was comfortable handling the pace, pressure, and athleticism thrown at him against Power 5 17u on Wednesday afternoon. Macon consistently won one-on-one matchups off of the bounce and had success in the lane finishing with a floater over bigger defenders or getting to the free throw line where he converted at a high percentage. The left-handed guard played very well for Hoopmatics 17u against a high-level opponent.

Indiana Basketball Club fell 77-71 to a very good Gamepoint team on Wednesday afternoon. Young knocked in a left wing three-point shot, got to the free throw line a couple of times with strong drives, and was able to operate against the size and athleticism thrown at him throughout the game. However, we were most impressed with how he guarded in this matchup. He was consistently pressuring the ball, did a great job of getting out in the passing lanes to deter ball reversals, and active as a weak side defender. What he brought to the table defensively was noticeable and worth of mention.
