2029 Player Rankings/Watch List

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We only rolled out <strong>6</strong> ranked players for the 2029 class with <strong>35</strong> total players.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>29 </strong>players are currently on the <strong>Watch List.</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 1st initial full rankings wont be until October sometime before the HS season starts and then after I watch a ton of freshmen and JV ball I will discover some new talent to add to a bigger rankings after the AIA season is over.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The annual <a href="https://events.prephoops.com/e/1570/register/arizona-freshman-showcase">Freshman Showcase</a> gives me a lot of insight yearly to see who are the top dogs. We had two in the state so far and those top players are all over the top-25 of the rankings in the 2027 and 2028 classes.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Our goal at&nbsp;<strong>PrepHoopsAZ</strong>&nbsp;is to try and recognize anyone who may play college basketball. We will keep searching for new players in preseason camps/events/leagues/Prep Hoops Circuit, AOG AZ High Academic Camp, Arizona Top-250 EXPO, my personal&nbsp;<a href="https://southwestaacamp.blogspot.com/p/blog-page.html">Southwest Basketball Camp</a>&nbsp;on&nbsp;<strong>August 18th-19th</strong>&nbsp;and during the AIA/CAA/OTE/NSPA/Grind Session seasons.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:embed {"url":"https://prephoops.com/arizona/rankings/2029-rankings/","type":"wp-embed","providerNameSlug":"prep-hoops"} --> <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-wp-embed is-provider-prep-hoops wp-block-embed-prep-hoops"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://prephoops.com/arizona/rankings/2029-rankings/ </div></figure> <!-- /wp:embed --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>1. 2 players have earned a D1 offer showing this class has talent including&nbsp;[player_tooltip player_id='2194474' first='Isaiah' last='Rider IV']&nbsp;of Higley.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>2. We have a solid number of players already getting burn on varsity and many more will be discovered over the next year. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>3. Rankings are based on a lot of things. Production, size for position, college coaches, the eye test, ability to score and defend, instincts, IQ, how a player moves, speed, ball handling, shooting, fundamentals. length and possible upside. It is not the easiest thing to do since not all players play in the same leagues for AAU and HS. They can be in the CAA, Grind Session, EIBC, OTE and the AIA obviously has different levels. Plus AAU teams may play on National Circuits (3SSB, UAA and EYBL) or play on independent or up and coming circuits (Pangos, NxtPro, EYCL, UAA Rise, Prep Hoops, WCE, New Balance, The Stage and so on). So you put all that information together and create the rankings.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>4. Of the&nbsp;<strong>35</strong>&nbsp;players we have 19 PG's, 3 SG's, 2 CG's, 5 SF's, 4 PF's and only 2 C's.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
