July is coming to a close, meaning the new academic year is right around the corner. The 2027 class has made noise this summer, especially prospects who play at Group 3 schools. Here are the 2027 Group 3 guards that had strong summers.

[player_tooltip player_id='2504912' first='Chace' last='Redler'], 6'2 PG/CG Millburn

Redler had a massive summer as he showed the ability to score inside and out. The 6'2 guard has a clean release and can knock down jumpers in bunches. Redler can also get into the lane off the bounce and finishes well around the rim. He moves well without the ball in his hands and makes good decisions with the ball in his hands. Redler is one of the top shooters in the 2027 class and should put his shooting on display throughout the course of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2864800' first='Talon' last='Wehmeyer'], 5'11 CG Mendham

Wehmeyer had a solid summer as he showed the ability to play both on and off the ball. The 5'11 guard has a good first step, which he uses to blow by his defender off the bounce and finishes strong around the basket. Wehmeyer can also score in the mid-range and can make opponents pay for giving him space behind the arc. He plays with composure on the ball and can get deflections on the defensive end. Wehmeyer is a talented guard prospect who should continue to make plays at both ends of the floor throughout the course of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2380816' first='De-an' last='Armstrong'], 6'0 PG Payne Tech

Armstrong had a big summer and is looking to carry it over into the winter. The 6'0 guard has a good shooting stroke and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Armstrong is more than just a shooter as he can also get to the rim off the bounce and finishes well around the basket. He is an underrated passer and uses his quick hands to get deflections on the defensive end. Armstrong's ability to make shots from behind the arc is something that will help his stock in a big way over the course of his junior season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2709454' first='Brooklyn' last='Jelinsky'], 6'4 CG/PG Wayne Hills

Jelinsky's stock has been going up over the summer and it should continue to rise over the next couple of months. The 6'4 guard uses his handle to get to his spot on the floor and rises up nicely on his jumper. Jelinsky finds his open teammates in the half court and has a good release on his jumper. He has the length to defend multiple positions on the floor and is an underrated defender. Jelinsky's ability to make plays at both ends of the floor is something that should help his development over the course of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2384280' first='RJ' last='Blake'], 6'6 CG/SF Northern Highlands

Blake showed the ability to play both spots on the perimeter this summer and should put that on display again this winter. The 6'6 wing uses his handle to get to his spot on the floor and finishes well around the rim. Blake moves well without the ball in his hands, freeing himself for open jumpers and layups in the half court. He uses his length to make an impact on the defensive end and can find his open teammates in the half court. Blake is a lanky wing prospect who should continue to impact the game at both ends of the floor throughout the course of the season.
