Here are the top bigs from the 15U division at Prep Hoops The Platform event this past weekend in Chicago

[player_tooltip player_id='2835732' first='William' last='Laidig'] 6'6 [player_tooltip player_id='2391665' first='Kessel' last='Heat'] 2028

Laidig is a true post player who was the main scoring option for [player_tooltip player_id='2391665' first='Kessel' last='Heat']. He is fundamentally sound around the rim scoring off sweeping hooks and simple drop-step layups. Laidig has good footwork and scores with either hand. He was a primary scorer and let his team in points over the weekend. As a defender he was strong on the defensive glass and didn't let many loose balls get past him. William has the tools to be a good rim protector and is still improving in that area. A player worthy of a ranking.

Grayson Castro 6"4 Team Herro 2029

Castro is solid post player who uses his wide frame to fight for the post position. He plays with a lot of physicality and strong motor skills. It was very difficult for the thinner post players to keep Grayson off the glass and out of the lane. He moves so well using spin moves and sells the shot fake to get rim protectors off their feet. As an incoming freshman he has a lot to work with.

Landon Ray 6'5 Midwest Bobcats 2028

Ray is a 6'5” active post player who is effective in the post and outside on the perimeter. Already a member of the varsity team it was no wonder Landon made it look easy at times on the offensive side of the ball. His nimble footwork and shot fakes got Defenders off their feet every time. Ray has the versatility to play on the perimeter but is much more effective when getting downhill and attacking at the basket. He scored double digits in every game this weekend for the Bobcats.

Keyhon Minor 6'4 Junior Raptors 2028

Minor was a surprise player that I caught watching from another court. He was physically more mature with his build and length than the other players on the court. Keyhon out jumped and stretched over guys for every rebound. He's had a knack for reading misses off the rim. As a scorer, he kept things simple with right and left-handed touches off the glass. He also used a short hook at times. Minor has the look and the talent to be the next breakout star at Rich Township.

[player_tooltip player_id='2877516' first='Bryant' last='Beck'] 6'5 [program_tooltip program_id='2785912' first='Team' last='FVV'] 2028

Bryant was another player who was having a pretty good weekend. A lanky rim runner who scores a lot off transition buckets but can make a move or two around the basket. Beck has some athleticism to his game and is a great shot blocker because of his mobility he can cover multiple spots. As he continues to get better vertically he can be an X factor in his second year at Winnebago.

Jalonny Billingsley 6'5 Drako Elite 2029

Already considered one of the top incoming players to high school next season. Jalonny is an uber athletic hybrid of a wing and a post player who started with exciting dunks and fear-inducing rebounds. The jump shot looks suitable and he looked comfortable having the basketball against bigger players. Billingsley has the talent to convert to a wing but right now has the right tools to be one of the better bigs in the class.
