With the updated version of our class of 2026 rankings coming out, it's time to look at some of the changes we have in the new version. We added over 25 new players to the rankings, with a lot of movement based on last high school season and the spring as well. Throughout the week we'll be putting out content on new faces, biggest risers and positional rankings as well.

Here's a look at part three of some of the top shooting guards and small forwards in the rising senior class rankings.

Ruey has been a starter for a Massanutten post grad team for the last two years, playing up against fifth year guys on one of the top programs of its kind in the country as they've been to the National Prep Championship in both of those seasons. The 6'5” two guard has shown a lot of development over the past few years, improving both as an athlete and in his skillset, and his consistent ability to impact winning is something he's always had. He's a competitor who brings it in big matchups and always seems to come up big when his team needs him to, he's a stout defender both on the ball and in help side, he can knock down shots from deep and make tough shots in the midrange, and he has shown a lot of improvement in his ability to create for himself and others off the bounce.

4) [player_tooltip player_id='2306290' first='Jhett' last='Carter'] | 6'6” SF | Hargrave (#15 Overall)

Carter is the guy on this list with the best chance to move up drastically, as he has big time pro potential and continues to trend in the right direction with his development and production level. At 6'6” Carter has prototypical positional size for the next level, and he's a top tier explosive athlete who thrives in transition and when he gets downhill to be able to play above the rim. He really improved as a ball handler and decision maker when he was forced to move on the ball when Hargrave's point guard got hurt midway through the season, he has improved a lot in his consistency as a catch-and-shoot guy from deep, he brings great energy on both ends of the floor, and he still has a lot of room to develop moving forward.

3) [player_tooltip player_id='1963391' first='Deshawn' last='Spellman'] | 6'7” SF | Hopewell (#14 Overall)

Spellman transferred to Hopewell from Landstown last season and helped Hopewell make a run to the VHSL Class 3 State Championship where they lost a close one to Spotswood, and he's another player that has huge potential moving forward with his size and skillset. At 6'7” the smooth lefty has a great frame that will fill out and is very mobile and athletic, and he fits the mold for the “3 and d” archetype to a tee at the division one level. He shoots the ball very well for a player his size with good footwork to catch on the move and the ability to rise over defenders, he can attack closeouts and get downhill where he can play above the rim, he thrives in transition with his athleticism, and he's a high upside defender as well.

2) [player_tooltip player_id='1595666' first='Ethan' last='Mgbako'] | 6'5” SF | Oak Hill Academy (#10 Overall)

Mgbako transferred to Oak Hill this past season from New Jersey where he immediately became one of the focal points of their team on both ends of the floor, and proved in the best league in America that he's a nationally ranked caliber prospect in the class. At 6'5” he's got prototypical size and athleticism to be a two way impact guy already in college, and his game shows the pedigree and genes he has coming from a basketball family including former college stars and pros. He's a walking bucket who can play both on and off the ball, and his ability to make closely contested shots while making it look easy is highly impressive. He has great balance when creating space on side and step-backs off the bounce, he can make shots on the move coming off of screens on the perimeter, he's a high flying finisher in transition and when he gets downhill, and he is a solid defender for his position too.

1) [player_tooltip player_id='2459068' first='Dreylan' last='Creasy'] | 6'8” SF | Blue Ridge (#5 Overall)

Creasy is perhaps the most under recruited player in the country that I've seen, and while he's started to see his stock rise this summer it baffles me that every high major coach in the country doesn't see how good he can be not only down the line, but next year as well. At 6'8” he has great positional size and can give a team multiple looks whether they want to go small and he can play the 4 or 5, or go big and he can play on the wing. He's a big time athlete who plays above the rim effortlessly, and his defensive versatility is very impressive as well with his ability to move his feet and also protect the rim as a shot blocker. He shoots the ball well from deep off the catch and on the move, he can rebound and start the break or work well off the bounce in the half court, and he is dynamite in transition or attacking the offensive glass for put-backs too.
