Section 7: 2026 Eye Catchers Day One

June 20-22 PH NorCal was in Mesa, Arizona for the Section 7 High School Tournament. It was a live viewing period for college coaches who sat court side watching players who could play them in the future. There were plenty of talented prospects from the West Coast and beyond, teams from Florida and Hawaii showed up. Our focus is on NorCal Prospects who played well while we were watching. Here are some the 2026 players who played well on Friday day one.      A 4 year varsity player who's time has come. He's a 6'3 shooting guard with range and a quick release. He hit long 3's, and mid-ranges after using a dribble or two to lull the defender. He'll work through the paint hitting turnaround jumpers over long arm defenders. Standing 6'3 with a good body he helped rebound and defend bigger players in the post.     He's a quick long arm, hard playing guard. He's an excellent defender with hand and feet movement to disrupt the flow. He'll hound who ever he's guarding. He can generate a bucket with a quick step, hard drive to the basket along the perimeter, and transition. He'll play through contact to finish around the rim. He's slasher, and a ball mover.     He had a good tournament, we'll call him the X Factor. What did he do. He defended using his length, and toughness in the post area, his foot speed, mobility, and length to defend shooters on the perimeter. He's stronger than he looks going up for points in the paint. He got rebounds, led the break, making long strong passes up court. He can take you off the dribble, and hit the 3-point shot.     Davis just picked up another DI offer because of his play on the court. He's a reliable quick hands defender who'll disrupt ball handlers, and get steals. He's been a consistent shot maker for a while now, dropping big 3's when needed, or using slick handles to go by defenders, hitting the mid-range or floating it high off the glass over long stretched blockers.     He returns to NorCal after spending time at Trinity Prep in Vegas. He's a do it all guard standing 6'5. He's a quality ball handler, and willing passer, good in transition passing it up. He has range to drop 3's, he can maneuver his way to spots for short jumpers, and to the rim. He's a long arm defender, he rebounds. In 4 games he averaged 24pts, 6a, 6r, at this event.     Standing around 6'6 Wiggins shows power and strength using one or two dribbles with good hops exploding to the basket for dunks and finishes around the rim. He has improving handles, attacking from the baseline and the high post, he hits the free throw jumper, he'll shoot corner 3's. He'll go out of his space for blocks and rebounds, solid post defender. He's playing to his strengths.     Hunter is a rising prospect in the 2026 Class. He's playing against quality competition in the EYBL. He transferred from Santa Cruz to State Runner Up Archbishop Riordan. He's knocking down 3's at a good rate. He's got good bounce going up for rebounds, put backs, blocks, and points around the rim in traffic.     Martin transferred to Modesto Christian from the small school in Turlock. He's a quality player, and a contributor. Listed at 6'4, he help defend in the post, had good movement defending on the perimeter. He got rebounds. He'll probably play different positions with this team, showing his versatility. He handles and passes well, sees the court, he can get his own shot, go up strong in traffic, and finish drives through contact.
