You can always strap in at Kennesaw State each June for their Team Camp, which annually draws some of the best high school teams from around Georgia to its multiple courts. Quite a few solid programs from the surrounding states were on hand this time as well, and here in the Saturday groupings, several stood out.

Here's Part 1 of 2 from Saturday action in the Convocation Center.

[player_tooltip player_id='1696246' first='Jerrin' last='Samuel'] | Guard | Winder-Barrow | 2026

Already well-entrenched as one of the state's top pure scoring threats, he held nothing back Saturday, particularly in a 2nd half performance vs Wenoah (AL) where by my unofficial count in that stanza he dropped 21 points on the visitors from the Heart of Dixie. The lefty was handling the point a bunch with JD Estime and Jeremiah Shealey graduated, and after 52 wins over the last two seasons with a core that was special, Samuel may find himself with the ball even more for the 'Doggs. At 6-foot-5 with good length, he can play PG at the next level for sure, and gives colleges all kinds of versatility options if you station him on the wing.

[player_tooltip player_id='1565985' first='Amari' last='Owens'] | Guard | Bryan Station (KY) | 2026

The Defenders won 25 games last season but said goodbye to a whole slew of players from their rotation. Owens is one of two top prospects back for another run, a shifty and clever point guard who sliced up the competition in the two games I saw him. "Running back" powerful, he has elite speed off the bounce and thrives getting up and through contact to the rim. An unorthodox-looking shot and rotation do not hinder him from being a legit threat from 3-land. After a big junior campaign and early summer, it's no secret his social media standing and offer list is growing.

[player_tooltip player_id='2317259' first='Taeshawn' last='Adams'] | Forward | Bryan Station (KY) | 2026

The second of two Defender athletes returning from a big season for them last year. Plays bigger than his 6-foot-5, a lot of that due to his terrific motor and hustle around the basket. Runs the floor, plays really sound defense both in the post and guarding up players further out, and made a ton of positive plays all over the floor, which translated into two good-looking team performances from the visitors from Kentucky. Can step away and shoot it some from distance as well, definitely making an impression on the Georgia scouts in attendance.

[player_tooltip player_id='2102286' first='Tre' last='Keith'] | Guard | Tri-Cities | 2027

The returning 5A champs lost some significant pieces from that title team, but when we got to see "elite" Keith later in their Saturday tilt vs Bryan Station, it was clear yet again it's all there in the tool chest to lead them deep once again. With fellow stud [player_tooltip player_id='1696252' first='Jalan' last='Wingfield'] having an off game, Keith shrugged off his own slow start, and after turning up the defensive heat, made a huge impact on the contest. He inspired his mates to turn it up too, and they got out and ran off steals and turnovers, and Keith was at the finishing end of much of that. So smooth, so polished, he can get to that other gear whenever he wants, fortifying what we already knew about him being undeniably one the best guards in the state.
