DMV Live Day 1 Standouts

Junior did a good job making himself available in spots to catch the ball and finish. He used his athleticism, size, and physicality well. He had 18 points and 11 rebounds against Clinton Grace.     Oje Owinje was outstanding for Clinton Grace against Mount Carmel. Oje excels in multiple areas offensively. He knocked down a few threes, one of which he did a great job using a screen to hit on the move. Oje has a good looking shot mechanically. Oje always plays with a great motor, and he got after it in the paint. Oje's size allows him to bang with bodies down low, and he does a great job attacking the glass. He had 20 points vs Mount Carmel.     [player_tooltip player_id='1963387' first='Kamauri' last='Lawson'] had a good day for St. Frances on both sides of the ball. Kamauri's effort today was outstanding, and you saw him be highly effective on the glass. He outworked everyone on the court consistently, and for a guy who is always one of the smallest on the court, he plays with the edge you need at his size. Kamauri didn't hit many jump shots today, but that is something he does well. He is quick and a very good decision-maker. He had 16 points and 6 rebounds in a win over Fairfax Christian.     [player_tooltip player_id='2353606' first='Amani' last='Asare'] should be one of the more impactful transfers in Virginia after transferring from Potomac this month. Amani is a natural and skilled scorer who can fill it up from all three levels. Amani is a good passer and has elite quickness. He has a tremendous feel for the game and is extremely crafty. Amani plays with an edge, and he is one of the best guards in Virginia. Amani had 20 points and 4 rebounds in a loss to Bishop O'Connell.     [player_tooltip player_id='2459209' first='Justin' last='Edwards'] is always going to positively impact winning when he steps on the court. Justin plays with an elite motor and is a great defender. Justin has good length, which allows him to guard bigger wings while also locking down smaller guards. He is an improving jump shooter, and even though he missed a lot of his looks out there today, I think that's something that will come. Justin was great on the glass today and finished with 13 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 steals against Highland.     [player_tooltip player_id='2382874' first='Mason' last='Ridgeway'] got off to a great start for his new team Evergreen Christian. Mason is a complete player who should see his recruitment take off more. He is a smart player who has a very consistent motor. Mason has the size you look for in a wing/guard hybrid. He defends well and can score from all over the court. He does a good job not forcing shots and always does a great job on the glass. Mason had 20 points and 11 rebounds in an Evergreen Christian win.     [player_tooltip player_id='1782660' first='Qayden' last='Samuels'] may be the best player at DMV Live, and he's one of the premier talents in the country for 2026. He's had a great summer, and he continued that today. Qayden did a great job getting the rim, and he is so comfortable creating his shot from all three levels. Qayden had 20 points in a high-scoring win over Hargrave National.
