Over the weekend we popped into the 252 Invitational in Snow Hill, NC. At the event, we were able to check out some of the top players in the area code all playing under one roof. Here's a look at some of the guys who caught my eye in the 17U division.

If it weren't for teammate [player_tooltip player_id='1412247' first='Darrion' last='Ellis'] leading the team in boards and blocks over the weekend Chaise would've walked away with MVP honors. He consistently got to his spots for pull ups over defenders while still converting any transition opportunity into an athletic dunk at the rim. If the shooting production keeps up expect that offer list to grow in the upcoming weeks.

Caleb plays the game the right way on either end of the floor. Offensively he's a high IQ combo who excelled at scoring on the weekend rather with and without the ball in his hands. At the same time defensively he harassed defenders with on ball pressure that led to multiple steals for his team's defense. One to watch heading into June and the remainder of the grassroots season.

Coming into the event I hadn't had a chance to see Hyatt outside of his role at Word of God. With Strictly Ballas over the weekend, he played with some extra freedom and left me truly impressed. On the defensive end, he took the initiative to guard other guards full court while still running the show at times offensively. Deep range, playmaking, and some underrated athleticism make him a prospect to watch for and remainder of the summer.

One of the leading scorers in the event, Lamb plays the game with great pace and feel that seems to allow him to never get sped up. He picked his spots well and scored with ease in all three of his contests, hitting three pointers off the catch, continuously attacking the rim, and drawing his fair share of fouls. He also rebounded the ball at a solid level, which initiated multiple rip and run opportunities. He averaged a tournament high 26 points per game.

The division one football recruit made his AAU season debut over the weekend and was one of the most impressive guys on the floor. He looks to have added some muscle to his already solid frame which helped him get multiple easy baskets at the rim. Defensively he was a nightmare for opposing offenses as he made it difficult to score and even had a few nice rejections. Expect Tyreek to have a big impact if Kinston is going to make some noise this June team camp season.

Thomas suited up with his hometown NC Invasion squad over the weekend. He was one of the key contributors in both of their contests attacking the rim and drawing multiple foul calls. He led his squad in scoring at just over 11 a game and did a solid job at distributing the ball to teammates as well.
