2029 Rankings Update: Top Group 4 Prospects to Watch

<p>The 2029 rankings update came out on Monday with almost 30 prospects ranked. Group 4 might contain the biggest public schools in the state, but that won't stop the freshman class from making its mark on the hardwood. Here are the Group 4 prospects to watch in the 2029 watch list.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2763190' first='Asaad' last='McLean'], 6'1 SG/SF North Star Academy</strong></h2>   <p>McLean is one of the top wing prospects in the 2029 class and should put it on display in his debut varsity season. The 6'1 wing explodes off the floor for dunks and can draw contact in the paint. McLean uses his handle to get to his spot on the floor and can also score in the mid-range. He has the length to defend multiple positions on the floor and skies for rebounds on both ends of the floor. McLean is an athletic wing prospect who should use his athleticism to make an impact at both ends of the floor throughout the season.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2887074' first='Ryan' last='Grundy'], 6'0 PG Montgomery</strong></h2>   <p>Grundy has the ability to play both on and off the ball and should put it on display this season. The 6'0 guard uses his handle to get to his spot on the floor and finds his open teammates in the half court. Grundy finishes nicely around the basket and has a clean release on his jumper. He moves well without the ball in his hands and slides his feet on the defensive end. Grundy is a talented guard prospect whose ability to play on and off the ball will help his development in a big way.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2874577' first='Rafael-Kian' last='Buenaventura'], 6'2 CG/SF Central Regional</strong></h2>   <p>Buenaventura has the ability to play both spots on the wing, which will make him one to track this season. The 6'2 wing has a good first step, which he uses to get into the paint and finishes well around the basket. Buenaventura is more than just a slasher as he can also score in the mid-range and raises up nicely on his jumper. He has the length to defend multiple positions on the floor and is an underrated rebounder. Buenaventura is a lanky wing prospect who should impact the game at both ends of the floor over the next couple of months.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2887075' first='Jack' last='Grundy'], 6'1 SG/SF Montgomery</strong></h2>   <p>Grundy will look to make an impact on the perimeter right away with his ability to make plays on the perimeter. The 6'1 wing has a good release on his jumper and sets his feet before he shoots. Grundy can also get to the basket off the bounce and moves well without the ball in his hands. He works hard on the defensive end and rarely forces shots in the half court. Grundy is a gritty wing prospect whose ability to make plays at both ends of the floor will help his stock in a big way.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2870482' first='Maurice' last='Bullock'], 5'5 PG/SG Piscataway</strong></h2>   <p>Bullock might be an undersized guard prospect, but that won't stop him from making an impact on the floor. The 5'5 guard uses his handle to beat his defender off the bounce and finishes well around the basket. Bullock can also score in the mid-range and sets his feet before he shoots. He uses his quick hands to get deflections on the defensive end and is an underrated passer. Bullock's ability to make plays at both ends of the floor will help his game over the next couple of months.</p>
