Donovan has excited scouts in the area with his high motor and effectiveness on the court. He has a smooth game and likes to get out in the open floor. He has a nice speed to his game already as a rising sophomore. Ford made some nice plays his freshmen season and will look to take on a larger role for Carroll as a complimentary wing. His decision-making in the halfcourt is impressive as he can make reads going downhill and in the pick-and-roll. The volume that Donovan shoots the 3 and defends the ball will be crucial this season as the backcourt will see plenty of shots from the leading guards. Ford will have a chance to establish a critical role in that backcourt heading into his second season.

Corey can stretch to just about any position on the floor from 2-5 due to his versatility and mobility. He stands at 6'3" now and may have some more growing to do. Already is a solid rebounder and he runs the floor very well, scoring in transition often. Corey has nice touch around the rim and can step out to the 3pt line and hit with space. I was most impressed with the way his game could adapt to the conditions on the court. Corey showed he can step out beyond the line and provide spacing on the floor, or he can be the big on the inside of a 4-out 1-in offense. Makes decent reads and can be trusted outside the paint with the ball.

Already an impact player for Maret on the defensive side of the ball. Gaeta brings good size to the roster and he can get up and down the court well. Catches well inside and finishes at the rim amongst the other big men. Gaeta spends a lot of time in the paint fighting for position and winning for second-chance opportunities. Oliver brings hustle ad intangibles to the game that can every team needs. His defense at the basket is disciplined and sound, goes straight up with both hands most times and allows the opposition to dictate the contact on their shot. Mature player with a lot of time to improve his game on a team that will benefit from his potential added contributions.

Patrick can shoot with high efficiency from any range. He sticks out as a mature player that can play in any moment. He has a lot of experience on the big stage already as a rising sophomore, so the bright lights of Gonzaga will likely heighten his performance. Patrick knows where to be on the floor and he impacts the game past his shooting ability. Shime is not afraid to put the ball on the floor and get inside to finish at the rim. He has great size matched with a natural feel for the game. plays both sides of the ball and can immediately come in as a 3&D wing for the Purple Eagles when they need him.

Chauncey was one of my favorite '28 prospects to watch last season as he played such an important role in Mt. St. Joe's success in the postseason. Word can explode offensively and he lacks no confidence. Smooth ball-handler that can get anywhere on the court and rise into his shot. His success shooting the ball can dictate how the defense reacts which opens up so much more for the Gaels. Chauncey will be beside BJ in the backcourt once again for the Gaels but will be called upon to be a more intracule part of the offense next season. He has shown so far that he is ready to handle the ball more and create offensively rather then only looking for his shot. Exciting trajectory for the young guard out in Baltimore.
