The 2026 rankings update came out on Monday with a little over 250 players taking part of the rankings. The back court class is loaded with talent, especially at the combo guard position. Here are the top combo guards from the 2026 rankings update.

[player_tooltip player_id='1865348' first='Jaen' last='Chatman'], 6'2 Blair Academy

Chatman is the highest ranked combo guard in the update, which saw him move into the top 5. The 6'2 guard explodes off the floor for dunks and can finish through contact. Chatman has a good touch in the mid-range and makes opponents pay for giving him space behind the arc. He plays with composure on the ball and is a tough on-ball defender. Chatman's stock has been on the rise all spring and should continue to rise this summer with his play-making ability.

[player_tooltip player_id='1729825' first='Trey' last='Lewis'], 6'3 Roselle Catholic

Lewis is the next highest ranked combo guard in the update and has the potential to move into the top 5 with a strong summer. The 6'3 guard attacks the basket with a purpose as he finishes strong around the rim and can make shots in traffic. Lewis is unafraid of taking shots in big moments and has a nice release on his jumper. He is an underrated passer and has the length to guard both back court spots. Lewis is a talented guard prospect who should make plays at both ends of the floor over the next couple of months.

[player_tooltip player_id='1963393' first='Tyrease' last='Hunter'], 6'3 Roselle Catholic

Lewis is not the only Lion on the list as Hunter is another Roselle Catholic combo guard to track. The 6'3 guard has a smooth shooting stroke and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Hunter is more than just a shooter as he can also get to the rim off the bounce and finishes well around the basket. He can find his open teammates in the half court. Hunter had some big games down the stretch for Roselle Catholic and will look to carry over his hot shooting into the summer.

[player_tooltip player_id='1595676' first='Jalen' last='Maldonado'], 6'2 Elizabeth

Maldonado is one of the more intriguing prospects in the update with his ability to play on and off the ball. The 6'2 guard has a tight handle, which he uses to blow by his defender off the bounce and is a crafty finisher around the basket. Maldonado is more than just a slasher as he has a good release on his jumper and can get hot from distance in a hurry. He moves his feet on the defensive end and is an underrated rebounder. Maldonado will have a chance to have the ball in his hands more this summer, which will help his development in a big way.

[player_tooltip player_id='1790210' first='Tyler' last='Hammond'], 6'0 Thrive Charter

Hammond has been a steady presence in the Titans' back court and should continue to do so in his senior season. The 6'0 guard has a clean shooting stroke as he wastes little motion and can knock down triples in bunches. Hammond uses his handle to get into the paint and has a good touch in the mid-range. He moves well without the ball in his hands and gets deflections on the defensive end. Hammond will get opportunities on and off the ball this summer, which will help his game in a big way over the next couple of months.
