The gyms were filled with talent last weekend in Winterset, but these five players stood out above the rest in the games that we were able to watch!

2027 SG [player_tooltip player_id='2204081' first='Charlie' last='King'] | Roosevelt

King was dominant in a pair of viewings, showcasing his three-level scoring prowess against both Dallas Center-Grimes and Valley. A smart, skilled guard who can really shoot it from the arc, he doesn't force anything and does a great job letting the game come to him. He's content getting his shots within the flow of the offense and using the early part of the game to set up his teammates and get them going first, then looking to attack weaknesses in the defense later on after diagnosing and finding the spots to take advantage of.

2028 SG [player_tooltip player_id='2523891' first='Carter' last='Thielen'] | Lewis Central

Thielen was superb against Madrid, scoring 34 points and doing so in a variety of different ways. A 6-3/6-4 wing who can use his size to shoot over defenders, and he does a great job using the threat of his shot to open up the rest of his offensive arsenal, putting the ball on the floor and getting to the rim. An active defender with the length to contest shots and get into passing lanes, he can provide some real versatility on both ends of the floor.

2028 SG [player_tooltip player_id='2519258' first='Keaton' last='Kasperbauer'] | Centennial

A talented lefty shotmaker, Kasperbauer was dominant against Xavier on Friday and then really good in our Saturday viewing against Pella Christian. Like Thielen, he has the size to get his shot off against just about anyone who will be defending him, and he's able to cover a lot of ground on both ends of the floor. He handles it and sees the floor well and likes to get his teammates involved.

2026 PG [player_tooltip player_id='1978110' first='Jaishon' last='White'] | Waukee

A tough lead guard who loves to play downhill and use his quickness and strength to his advantage, White was in constant attack mode throughout the weekend, getting to the rim off both the dribble and good off-ball movement for easy finishes. He's a lightning-quick guard with tight handles, and he moves his feet really well on the defensive end, making life difficult for opposing ball-handlers. His playmaking and shot creation is among the best in the state.

2026 SG [player_tooltip player_id='1978130' first='Hudson' last='Lorensen'] | ADM

A pure scorer with an elite feel for the game, it's easy to see why college programs are coveting Lorensen. He shoots it incredibly well off both the dribble and the catch, and his improved playmaking and passing instincts will be a huge asset for the Tigers this winter. He has so much gravity in terms of defensive attention that it's remarkable to see how effortlessly he still scores it.
