Prep Hoops Indiana had boots on the ground coverage from Spooky Nook in Hamilton, Ohio for UAA Session II/UA Rise Session I. The first live evaluation period of the spring brought coaches into the gym from all across the country which always helps to generate a different level of buzz. Throughout the weekend we dropped our typical notebook-style write-ups to provide coverage in real time. However, now as we debrief from the weekend, we will take a more expansive view of what we saw. Let's now dive in and take a closer look at the 17u level starting here with some of the top individual performers from the state of Indiana.

We've always been a big fan of Bock's explosive athleticism from the forward spot. He certainly displayed that over the weekend as it seemed like in every game at some point he would sneak along the baseline and catch an alley-oop that put him well above the rim. The Sullivan High School product scored 17 points in one of the games we watched showcasing his ability to drive it from the wings and elbows, score via cuts to the rim, and finish offensive rebound putbacks. However, it was his consistent effort on the defensive end that may have been most impressive at UA Rise Session 1. The 6'6" forward for the Indiana Jammers was excellent in one-on-one post up situations, switched onto guards on the perimeter, blocked some shots, and routinely cleaned the defensive glass.

In terms of prospects from the state of Indiana, Caldwell was the biggest draw for college coaches at UA Rise Session I in Hamilton, Ohio. There was a steady stream of Division I coaches at each of Progeny's games to check out the super athletic, mobile, 6'8" forward. The Silver Creek High School product gave them a consistent show as well. His ability to move around like a guard caught the attention of many attendance as Caldwell would drive it left and spin back right to finish consistently. He stretched the floor out beyond the arc for a couple of catch-and-shoot three-pointers over the course of the weekend as well. There should be more Division I offers to come sooner rather than later for him.

One of the better pure scorers in Indiana's Class of 2026, Fresh scored 15 points in one win and 18 points in another in two games that we watched on Saturday at UA Rise Session I. The 6'2" guard has a level of athletic burst and explosiveness that not many others in the class possess. He can create his own shot off of the dribble, usually using his favorite left-to-right crossover, and gets great elevation on his shot. That jump shooting ability allows him to make some tough ones in isolation. Scholarship programs across all levels should continue taking a close look at this Charlestown High School star playing with Progeny.

We weren't around to watch the Indiana Jammers' fourth and final game of the weekend, but Klopfenstein was an incredible 19-24 from three-point range in their first three games. The 6'6" guard/wing is undoubtedly one of the best catch-and-shoot threats in Indiana's Class of 2026 and obviously had that skill on display for college coaches at UA Rise Session I. Scholarship programs across all levels were taking notice as Klopfenstein was one of the hottest names among conversations with coaches in Hamilton, Ohio. Look for the offers to start to come in heading into the summer months.

This guard from Munster High School had a big time weekend at UA Rise Session I for [program_tooltip program_id='2075551' first='Indiana' last='Game'] and it earned him a scholarship offer from Taylor coming out of the weekend. Malloy led his team in scoring with 20 points and 16 points in a pair of wins on Saturday. He shot the ball well both from beyond the arc and in the mid-range while showcasing a pop of athleticism when going to finish inside. His versatility as a scorer, making noise both on and off of the ball, is what attracted college coaches to him in Hamilton, Ohio. One to keep an eye on going into the summer months.

A recent Bethel commit, Marshall was the standout of the [program_tooltip program_id='2228160' first='OPS' last=''] 17u game we watched on Saturday evening. The talented 6'3" guard scored a team-high 22 points in the contest. Marshall showed off his three-point shooting ability connecting on four triples while using a sneaky burst of quickness and athleticism to knife his way to the rim off of the bounce where he could elevate to finish. You can definitely see the Crossroads League talent when watching him play.

Sawatzky really stood out in the game we watched of [program_tooltip program_id='2228160' first='OPS' last=''] 17u on Saturday evening at UA Rise Session I. The guard from Goshen High School has impressive positional size and a strong build while also being able to really stroke it from beyond the arc. He knocked in four three-point shots on his way to 19 points in one contest. Talented offensive player with some big time shot-making ability from the perimeter.

An Indiana Junior All-Star, Schelsky does such a good job of switching between scoring mode and playmaking mode as needed. He is always willing and able to do whatever is necessary to help his team win. That is true at Parke Heritage and with Progeny. There was no better example of that than on Saturday when he scored 24 points in a morning win while shooting in 6-8 from three-point range before scoring just 2 points, but dishing out 4 assists, later in the day in another victory.
