New to Spire's national prep program, Mitchell is one of the most skilled forwards in the country and is ranked between 4th and 12th nationally on Rivals, On3, ESPN and 247. A prospect who has been in the national spotlight for a while now, Mitchell has been playing up with Brad Beal Elite since the first time I watched him at Peach Jam when he was a rising freshman. Now, Mitchell is one of the few 2027 prospects starting for a 17 U EYBL squad and has impressed as a high feel connector piece who is occasionally spacing the floor as well. I'll look for Mitchell to also work to transform his body at Spire's state of the art weight room facility over the next two years.

Coming to Spire's post grad team, Janicic really stood out for PG Elite 16 U due to his high level feel for the game. An impressive passer who doesn't force the issue, Janicic was setting the table at a high level for his teammates. Known as a knockdown shooter, Janicic also impressed with a couple tough 3-pointers off movement. With international experience for north Macedonia at the youth level in events such as basketball without borders, Janicic comes to Ohio with plenty of talent and experience and has the opportunity to hit the ground running with Spire's post grad squad.

Another prospect I got to see for the first time at EYBL in Memphis, Fox was making plays for City Rocks 16 U at both ends of the court. A versatile forward who can play the 3 or the 4, Fox is a sharp shooting lefty who made a handful of shots in a win over [program_tooltip program_id='2320052' first='All' last='Ohio Red'] 16 U to close the weekend. I was also impressed by how Fox moved for his size, with a frame that can add a strength without limiting his mobility. A high upside prospect to know who will be coming to Ohio to play for Western Reserve Academy this fall.

I caught Saran at the Bill Hensley Run N Slam playing for [program_tooltip program_id='2078667' first='TNBA' last='']-Ohio as a bigger lead guard who can handle and pass the ball as a primary or secondary creator. The brother of Derin Sran, a similar sized guard who averaged 10 PPG for UC Irvine as a freshman in 2023-24, Saran shows some intriguing potential as a high feel prospect. After developing last season at Western Reserve Academy, I could see Saran playing a bigger role this year with continued physical development.

The lone OHSAA member to crack this list, Goran is a prospect who I heard really good things about during his sophomore season. Unable to catch a Keystone game, I had to wait until the spring to watch Goran with his [program_tooltip program_id='2075761' first='Ohio' last='Buckets'] 16 U squad. Another high feel prospect who can flat out get a bucket, Goran uses unique pace, patience and shot-making ability to be a tough cover for defenses. While Goran has impressed as a bench piece for his [program_tooltip program_id='2075761' first='Ohio' last='Buckets'] squad, I also definitely want to see him with his high school program to see how he handles being the featured scoring option. Based on his absurd stats and 20-3 record he led the Wildcats to last season, I'm assuming I'll be similarly impressed.
