Shane’s Under-the-Radar Players – Run-n-Slam

He has good size and can play point guard with his ball handling ability even though he is best not as the primary ball handler so he can use his energy for scoring. When he sees a shot go in, he gets into a great rhythm. When he gets a 1-2 step into his shot, it hits the bottom of the net. He knocked down multiple threes. He provided consistent buckets. NW Ohio squad was playing in a massive pool game that dictated tournament bracket, and you could tell Welch really wanted to win. He showed competitive excellence. He was the ball handler and decision-maker for his squad and did a great job. He does a good job of putting defenders on his hip and getting to the rim. He dictates contact well when driving to the rim. He is a really good slasher in the half-court and a creative finisher around the rim. When he had the ball in transition, he made good decisions on either scoring it or hitting running teammates. He has good length for a point guard that you see him use on both ends of the floor. He has a nice shot, but he does not settle for it. His game is to get downhill and put pressure on the rim. He has a nice handle and skillset that allows him to take his time to break down defenders, shift their hips, and then blow by them. He shot all of his shots at the rim because he could not get stopped. He plays the game ready to do whatever it takes to win. He is a physical player who is willing to test the other team's toughness. He has some good size and strength. He is not just a bully on the floor he has some finesse too. His jumper is smooth, and he is a knockdown catch-n-shooter. He plays the game the right way as well. He always makes the extra pass. Plays hard on defense. Aggressive when attacking the glass on both ends.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
