I was really impressed with the strides Ziegler showed me back in May. A prospect who I saw early in his sophomore season and was intrigued by, Ziegler has grown, put on good weight and muscle while also improving as a shot creator. That combination of skills and his production this grassroots season made him as easy choice as a stock riser during this rankings update to sneak into the top 100.

A smooth shooter on the wing, Ziegler was catching and shooting the ball with confidence in the early part of Friday’s showcase. With a stronger built frame, Zielger can use his physicality on both sides of the court to his advantage. After a first team all conference and county sophomore season, Ziegler looks to take another step as he prepares for his junior season with Avon.

A stronger wing guard, Ziegler had a nice season for Avon as a first team all conference member as just a Sophomore. Ziegler averaged 14 points, 4 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game last season, showing his ability to impact the game in a variety of ways. His advanced physical frame for his size allowed him to create off the dribble and overpower defenders in the paint, making a clear jump in the physicality aspect of his game this season. His slashing ability also caused the defense to collapse on him and I was impressed with his ability to finish and pass with his left hand. One of the more productive bigger guards in northeast Ohio’s 2027 class, I’m sure Ziegler will continue to generate buzz with his production these next two seasons.

Ziegler is a really nice scoring guard. He has good size and can play point guard with his ball handling ability even though he is best not as the primary ball handler so he can use his energy for scoring. When he sees a shot go in, he gets into a great rhythm. When he gets a 1-2 step into his shot, it hits the bottom of the net. He knocked down multiple threes. He provided consistent buckets. He then showed the ability to put a defender on his hip on the drives and finish at the rim as well.

Avon turned a double-digit deficit into a double-digit lead in the third quarter and Ziegler was a key reason for the massive run. Ziegler is a strong wing guard who was able to score at the rim and stretch the floor with a couple 3-pointers from the top of the key. Maybe the play I was most impressed by Ziegler all game was a lefty bounce pass to a cutter that resulted in an easy layup.
