[program_tooltip program_id='2078667' first='TNBA' last=''] got down big in their first game of bracket play before going on a huge run in the second half to steal a one point win and move on. Compton got going as a wing shooter who can get into a rhythm quickly and is a confident pull-up shooter. It was nice to see Compton playing with confidence after watching his [program_tooltip program_id='2078667' first='TNBA' last='']-Ohio team get a win without him on Friday. One of the more intriguing names to watch on the Hoop Group circuit for low major and Division II programs.

Hatfield had a productive weekend as a scorer using his quickness to get to his spots and either rise up from the mid-range area or get all the way to the rim. Hatfield plays at one speed on the court and that's fast which allows him to make plays off the bounce for himself or teammates. His dribble drive ability forced help from the defense which gave easy kick-out opportunities for Hatfield to help create open 3-point looks for his teammates. Hatfield has taken multiple football visits in April including Valpo and Ashland and should also receive small college interest on the hardwood as well.

Run As One had an impressive weekend as their defensive pressure gave teams a lot of trouble as they turned opponents over and quickly turned defense to offense. Another undersized guard who was productive this weekend, James was attacking off the dribble and using his quickness to get into the lane where he scored at the rim with scoop layup finishes. Also a rhythm shot maker, James hit a couple shots off the bounce. Run As One has some impressive Columbus City League talent with [player_tooltip player_id='2459115' first='Rohaun' last='Hardy'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2856492' first='Manny' last='Towns'] also impressing this weekend.

I noticed significant improvement with Rinehard since the last time I watched him play in the fall of 2024 as he prepared for his junior season. One of the tallest players in Ohio, Rinehard had a couple easy layups where he literally shot right over the defense. Playing with more confidence and slowly adding strength on his frame, Rinehard is on the right track to potentially making an impact at the varsity level this winter. His height alone will make him interesting to some small college programs if he's interested in playing at the college level.

Nova Village put up a great fight on Sunday against Indy Heat in the platinum tournament and Roark was creating a lot of offense for his team. Able to score in isolation settings, Roark plays with a ton of confidence and isn't afraid to launch away from way downtown. As a group, Nova Village moved the ball well and weren't afraid as they built up a double-digit first half lead before falling by three points in the quarterfinals.

One of the more intriguing prospects in the northeast Ohio area for the class of 2028, Howard played hard when he was in the game for Indy Heat 15 U. Defensively Howard was moving around and wanted to contest and challenge shots at the rim. Howard had an impressive slam dunk in the half-court where one of his guards found him open under the basket. A name I'll be closely monitoring, I'm already liking the early returns just based off Howard's height, length and activity alone.
